C n Thuraday, June 18, 1964 THE CLINTON CHRONICLE VFW Launches Project in County Commander Mae Rouse (6S-«4) and Luke Van Ness (64- 65) announce that Slmpson-Medlock VFW Post 3354, Laurens, has launched a project dubbed “Operation Loan Closet,” that will make available to any Laurens County resident, veteran or not, sick-room equipment, such as wheel chairs, beds, crutches, invalid walkers, etc., for free home use on a tem porary basis. Workers are conducting a county-wide canvass to raise funds for these ambulatory aids. They will carry let ters of introduction signed by post and county officials. PC Professor Publishes Work On James Boswell A bibliography on James Bos well entitled “Boswellian Stu dies” has been published by An thony E. Brown, assistant, pro fessor of English at Presbyterian College. In this catalog of the critical writing on the subject of James Boswell and his work, Brown has “attempted to organize into a single instrument as much of the primary material and secondary work as my resources have per mitted.” The five sections in clude: editions of Boswell’s works, with particular attention to his “Life of Samuel Johnson”; biographies of Boswell; the Bos- St Andrews Graduate Horace D. Payne Jr., son of Mrs. H. D. Payne and the late Mr. Payne, was a member of the graduating class at St. Andrews College, Laurfnburg, N. C. His degree is a bachelor of science in business administraotion. Mr. Payne will enter the National Guard for four months at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, and then will be sent to For Jackson, Co lumbia for two months.
