HOSPITAL PATIENT L. Ray Pitts is a patient ni the Greneville General Hospital where he underwent surgery yesterday. Johnny Finney of Loris, is spending several days with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Finney, Jr., and grand mother. Mrs. John Finney. Mrs. Ernest Chaney is spend ing several weeks in Charleston with her daughter, Mrs. Frazier Lominack, and Mr. Lominack. Billy Brooks Owens is at Fort Bragg, N. C., where he is at tending ROTC summer camp. He is a rising senior at Clemson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marse and daughters left Saturday for a va cation trip to New York City and the World’s Fair. They will re turn by the Skyline Drive for a sightseeing trip. Libby Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bishop, is con valescing at home following eye surgery and stay at Greenville General hospital. Marvin Sanders, student at the University of Mississippi, Ox ford, is at home for the summer months with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Sammie M. Pin son and daughters were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Pinson in Cross Hill. Miss Barbara Anderson has returned home from Furman University to spend the summer months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Anderson. While here she is attending summer school at Presbyterian College. Mr. and Mrs. Van Jones and children of Orangeburg are on a two weeks vacation visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Jones of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Curry in Foun tain Inn. On Sunday they de parted for Washington, D. C. for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones and children. Miss Vanette Jones remained with her grand parents for a visit until the Joneses ret uni Mr. and Mrs. John B. Jordan and children of Kinston, N. C., are expected this weekend for a visit with Mrs. Jordan’s mother, Mrs. Robert Wysor. Mrs. Ruble Coker of Green ville is spending severay days with her daughter, Mrs. Julian Weiser and the Rev. Weiser. ON TRIP TO N. Y. AND DANCING SCHOOL Miss Ginger Crocker, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker, departed last Tuesday with Miss LaBruce Heist for a fifteen day trip to Virginia, Wash ington, D. C., and New York. While there they will attend the World’s Fair, and study dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sowers spent sveeral days last week at their summer home at Bat’s Cave, N. C., going especially to attend the wedding of their nep hew, John Carroll Bledsoe of Greenwood and Miss Melody Lee Long. The wedding took place Saturday evening at the Central Methodist Church in Asheville, N. C. ATTEND TEA Mrs. E. C. Taylor Jr., Mrs. J. J. Mabry, Mrs. Oscar Kinard, Mrs. Dessl Jean Roberts, Mrs. Ralph Riddle and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were in Columbia on Sunday afternoon where they at tended a tea at the Governor’s Mansion honoring the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ott Thomas recently attended the graduation exer cises of her grandson,’ Albert Davenport, in Danielson, Conn. Mr. Davenport is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Davenport. Friends will regret to know Ray Pitts is a patient at the Greenville General hospital where he underwent surgery on Tuesday. Mrs. W. A. Davis is a patient at the Spartanburg General hos pital where she underwent sur gery on Wednesday. cruise to New York and the World’s Fair. Wilson Is a patient at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., where he is undergoing treat ment. Mrs. Wilson is in Atlanta with him. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Thomason and the Rev. and Mrs. A. S. Harvey have returned from sev eral days stay at the South Caro lina Methodist conference at Lake Junaluska. . Guests on Monday of Mr. and ^ifrs. J. E. Anderson were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson and daughter of Pendleton. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lehn and children Collie and Charlotte left today for a vacation trip to New York City and the World’s Fair. From there they will go to Wau watosa, Wis., for a visit with Mr. Lehn’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Lehn. RETURN FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. James Von Hol- len and children returned Mon day from a two weeks vacation in Pennsylavania and New York. In Pennsylvania they were guests of W. F. Keefer and from there visited in New York and attend ed the World’s Fair and other points of interest. Enroute home they visited in Williamsburg and Jamestown, Va. LEAVING FOR N. Y. ON SUNDAY Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Buice will depart Sunday for a scenic Mr. and Mrs. Mac Finney, Miss Mollie Finney of Loris ar rived Tuesday for a few days visit with the former’s mother, Mrs. John W. Finney and other relatives. Mrs. James Wolfe and child ren, Jimmie, Denise and Jean are vacationing at Myrtle Beach and Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Olive Littlefield of Colum bia is visiting Mrs. Eugene Hitt this week. Arriving yesterday from Avon Park, Fla., was Mrs. Hitt’s daughter, Mrs. Irvin Ford and Mr. Ford for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. James Ander son and-children, Martha Emily and Jimmy of Austin, Texas are visiting for several weeks with the former’s mother, Mrs. Ray Anderson. MISSISSIPPI YOUNG ENTERTAINS RELATIVES Mr. and Mrs. Amos Rye of Aberdeen, Mississippi, arrived Sunday on Southern Air Way in Greenwood. They are the guests in the home of the latter’s aunt, Misses Minnie and Lizzie Lou Young, known as the Mississippi Youngs, Mississippi Drive. While here they are celebrat ing their 25th wedding anniver sary and being entertained by friends of the family. Attending the Smith reunion in Waterloo on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Smith and “family and Mrs. Clyde F. Smith of this city. Visiting recently with Mrs. Clyde F. Smith was Mrs. Hoyt Dominick of Tryon, N. C. DICUS HAVE VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ferriter and children of Burlington, Vt., are visiting Mrs. Ferriter’s family here for two weeks. Also joining the Dicus family here is Major William A. Dicus, who has been stationed in Okinawa with the U. S. Marine Corps. Mc- Quiston of Henderson, Kentucky; Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Griggs of Arlington, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Adair of Columbia; and Mr. and Mrs. James F. Adair of Bethesda, Md. Mr. and Mrs. J. Robert Cox and family are in Atlanta, Ga. this week going especially for the new showing of toys for the Firestone Stores. MbTHER PASSES IN MICHIGAN Mrs. Lex Hamilton was called to Michigan this week due to the death of her mother Mrs. Mc Carthy. Mrs. O. B. King departed Fri day for a visit to Virginia Beach with her children, Warren O. White and family, James R. White and family and Mrs. Mir- ian W. Gray and children. Miss Shirley Ann Timmons was guest of her room-mate, Miss Helen Hussey at Myrtle Beach this weekend. While there Miss Timmons was the participants in the "Son Parade”, taking part in the State Paper float won second place In the parade. Dinner guests Sunday of Dr. and Mrs. David T. Mixon and family were Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Todd and family and M. 8. Todd and Charles Todd of Coo-, way, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Todd and family of S. Mathews, and Mr. and Mrs. John O’Niel and daughters of this city. TO DEPART FOR RIVIERA CRUISE Dr. and Mrs. D. O. Rhame and Dr. and Mrs. Don Rhame will depart Saturday for Moores- ville, N. C. where they will board the Riveria for a 10 day cruise to New York and Bermuda. Guests this week of the Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Darr are thrir children and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. W.
