Sanders of Palatka, Fla., is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders. She came for the graduation of her grandson Jim my Sanders from Clinton High School. Clemson University students home for summer are: Nathan Gilstrap, Gary Goss and Mack Gaffney. A1C Wayne Quinton left Mon day for McGuire APB in New Jersey, from where he will leave by plane for the Alconbery AFB in England. He, with Mrs. Quin ton and children have been spending a 30 day leave with their parents, Mrs. Eula Quinton and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Emery. Prior to his leave, Airman Quin ton was stationed in Georgia. Mrs. Quinton and children will remain here until the fall when she will join her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Ezell Abney of Newberry were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte. Bruce Mills of the University of S C , in Columbia was home with his mother, Mrs. J. B. Mrs. John Heath of GreenviUe spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. J. H. Seay. Mrs. Emma Neal of Greenwood spent last week with her sister, Mrs. Seay and on Sunday another sis ter, Mrs. Laura Kirby and Mr. and Mrs. John Kirby of Char lotte, N. C., visited her. Other members of the family have vis ited at intervals during the week- due to Mrs. Seay’s being serious ly fll. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Taylor and children and Mrs. Cora Gaddy of Chester were Saturday guests of Mr and Mrs. Bo Brown. Mr. Reid, brother to Mrs. John Word is a patient in the Spartanburg General Hospital. Mrs. Ruth McPherson of Ches ter spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Ter rell and sister, Mrs. Mildred Dickerson. On Sunday Mrs. Mc Pherson, Mrs. Dickerson and Steve visited their brother and uncle, Willie Terrell in the Stroud Hospital in Marietta. Roland Re vis of Fort Lewis, Wash., is spending a 28- day leave with bis mother, Mrs. Fred Mathis and sisters, Mrs. Benny Tucker and Mrs. Bobby Webb and their families before leaving for Giesangerman, Ger many. Johnson and brother, Bobby Johnson and Mrs. John son. WITH THE SICK Mrs. Raymond Wyatt is a sur gical patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Will Ellis has been ill at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. J. H. Seay continues ill at her home on Thornwell St. Mr. Harold Hairston and son Wayne were patients at Bailey Memorial Hospital Sunday night. They received injuries in an au tomobile accident on Sundey eve ning. Gail Eustace, daughter of Sgt and Mrs. Lester Eustace is to be at the Baltimore, Md., Hospi tal June 1 for eye treatment and possible surgery. Mrs. Annie Mae Roper is re cuperating at her home follow ing recent surgery. WOMAN’S CLUB HOLDS MAY MEETING The Lydia Woman’s Club held their May meeting on Thursady evening at the Lydia Community Building with the President, Mrs. David Word presiding. The devotional was given by Mrs. Fred Bodie. The club win have a called meeting on Monday June 8 for everyone to pay the remainder of the New York trip fee. v Mrs. Ralph Riddle, program chairman, introduced Mrs. Fred Holcombe who spoke on the ar ranging of permanent flowers. County 4H Club spring meeting. A morning business session, a picnic lunch and a recreation period were highlights of the con vocation. Mary Hipp, outgoing presi dent, presided at the business meeting that opened With devo tions given by members of the Hickory Tavern 4H Club. were presented certificates and seals by Mrs. Judy Glover, as sistant county Home Demonstra tion agent. A song period fol lowing the business session was directed by Mrs. T. B. Sumerel, adult leader, and Joe Shay, pianist. Others taking part on the pro gram were Carolyn Emery and Sarah Simm of the Whitten Vil lage Club; Elizabeth Woods of the County Wide and Green- pond clubs; Calvin Robertson, County Wide Club; Frank Hill, County Wide and County Live stock Club; Miss Myrtfce Taylor, county Home Demonstration agent; and H. L. Eason, assist ant county farm agent. After a picnic lunch, 4H mem bers joined in softball and vol leyball games and other plan ned recreation surpervised by adult leaders. Greene To Head PC Choir For Year Jack Greene, a rising senior from Spartanburg, has been elected president of the Pres byterian College Robed Choir for the coming year.
