Whitmire and Mrs. Allen White Jr., and Cindy were shoppers in Greenville Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gaskins attended the Elks convention in Florence during the week-end while they were away, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Staggs of Belton were here with their grandchildren. Mrs.. Hiram Franklin and sons of Newberry visited the Gaskins on Sunday. PENTECOSTAL REVIVAL The Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church will be in revival services from Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Sunday, Feb. 2 with services each evening at 7 P.M. Miss Natalie Carnes a Mis sionary Evangelist, now at home in Mt. Pleasant w'ill be the speak er at the services. Rev. Roscoe Bryan, pastor of the host church extends a cordial invitation to the services. YOUTH LEADER SPEAKS Sunday evening Keith Mariner of the Emanuel College in Frank lin Springs, Ga., spoke at the Ly dia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Mariner showed slides of the Life Liner's work with the youth, in New York during the past summer. RECORD PARTY ENJOYED Misses Becky Stone, Marilyn and Louise Neal were hostesses at a record party at the Lydia Community Building on Friday evening. Seay who is a pa tient in the Newberry County Hospital, hopes to return home this week. Mrs. Ernestine Huskey under went surgery at Self - Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, Tuesday of last week. Henry^Abercrombie was to un dergo surgery Tuesday at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Lydia Woman’s Club met Thursday evening at the Lydia Community Building .for their first meeting of the year. MOTHERS MARCH PLANNED The annual. "Mothers’ March” of the Polio .Drive will be held Friday. Jan. 31. Members of the Woman’s Club will assist with the march along with other ladies in the com munity. Miss Nellie Osborne is in charge of the Lydia Community March and any of the ladies not contacted who wish to help should get in contact with Miss Osborne. : CAMPFIRE GIRLS Plans are being made for the annual social for the Junior Hori zon group of the three Clinton Camp Fire Districts — The Lewa District is at Lydia. • Future plans are being made for the Annual Dad-Daughter Banquet in February for Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls through the 6th grade.
