On Christmas Day Miss B e V e r 1 y Kay Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hill, became the bride of Maxie Dean Davis, son of Mrf and Mrs. Lester Davis of Lydia Mill community, on Christmas Day, December 25, at 6 o’clock in the afternoon at Davidson Street Baptist Church. The Reverend M. Floyd Hel- lams performed the double ring ceremony before a background of two candelabra 'entwined with ivy and holding white burning tapers; A tall basket of mums, chrysanthemums and white glads centered the arrangeqoent. The bride selected a red wool suit for her wedding. To com plement the suit, she wore a white feathered hat and black accessories, and carried a white carnation corsage. The bride is a graduate of Clinton High School and is em ployed at the Clinton Bearings Plant of the Torringion Co. News Of Bonds Cross Roads MRS. N. A. SHOUSE Correspondent Miss Hall, Mr. Elmore Wed 'Christmas Eve Miss Carolyn Hall and Robert Earl Elmore, Jr., said their mar riage vows Christmas Eve at 3:00 p. m. at the home of Rev. W. O. Weathers. Mrs. Elmore is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe T. Hall of 315 Twin Lake Road, Greenville, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. El more of Route 1, Clinton. The bride was given in mar riage by her father.. She was at tired in powder bpfc£ silk brocade. She wore a veil with a pearl aqd satin headress, and carried a. bouquet of carnation on a Bijt>le. Miss Lodene Elmore of Clidton, sister of the groom, attended the bride. Her cocoa brown dress was complemented by brown ac cessories. She wore a corsage of white^carnations. Alvin Goodwin of Laurens, was best man. After the service a reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents. For a trip to HiltOn Head Is land, the bride changed to a brown velvet dress, cashmere coat with mink collar and hat to match, and brown accessories. After Sunday the bride and groom will live o in Columbia, where she is a teller at the South Carolina National Bank, and her husband is employed at the U. S. Health Department. Mrs. Elmore ivas graduated from Parker High School in 1958. Her husband, a Clinton High School graduate, completed stud- Party At Mountville The Mountville Grange held a party Friday night, Dec. 20, for the children and young people of the com munity at the Grange hall. Persons from two years to over 83 years enjoyed the music, games and refresh ments. - Mrs. John Simmons was over-all chairman, assist ed by Mrs. Alex Simpson, entertainment chairman; Mrs. W. H. Finley, refreshment chairman; Mrs. J. M. Wham, decorations 'chairman; and Mrs. A. J. Finley, publicity chairman. v The Grange is making plans for two or three such parties during the coming year. Rehearsal Dinner * Given In Annapolis On Saturday evening, Dec. 28, Miss Peggy Jo Giles of Simpson- ville, and Ensign Robert R. New ell of Columbus, Ohio, were en tertained at Carvel Hall, U. S. Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Md., with a dinner party fol lowing the Giles-Newell wedding rehearsal. The dinner party was given by Mrs. Ed Coker of Simpsonville, and Mrs. George D. Ellis, Jr., of Clinton, aunts of the bride. The guests included thte bride and groom, friends and all the wedding attendants. ^ The long dining table wps cen tered with a lovely arrangement of Christmas greens, silver wed ding rings and white pom poms, flanked on either side by white candles in silver holders. Plpces at the table were marked With wedding ring place cards and the marker for the bride and groom was 4 silver anchor decorated and lily of the valley. During the evening the bride and groom presented gifts to their attendants.. Miss Sallie Pitts, daughter of Mr. ard Mrs. David Pitts, has re turned to Grady Memorial hos pital, Atlanta, where she is studying. . ^ Kenneth Johnson left ^Saturday for Langley Air Force Base for a practice work period, a part of his work at (Georgia Tech., Ken neth was with his parents for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. James Evans, Mr. and Ml’S. Freeman Evans and Mrs. Mildred Cause were in Newport, Tenn., on Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Cause and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cause. Mr., and Mrs. W. B. Cause are now making their home with their son, Marvin, and Mrs. Cause. Mrs. W. B. Cause, who has been ill, is improvUjg. A number of families enjoyed Christmas Day together. DON’S Miss Gregory and Mr. Cunningham Wed On Sunday Miss Hellen Carole Gregory, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Capers Gregory of Beech St, became the bride of James Duvall Cunning ham, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham of Route 1, Clinton# on Sunday, December 22, at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the home of the bride. A middle arrangement before the mantel of white poinsettias and lighted tapers made a lovely setting for the double ring cere mony performed by the Rev. Bankhead, pastor of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church. / The bride had chosen a white wool street length dress with white fur pillbox hat and grey accessories. A white carnation corsage completed her attire. Only members of the Gregory and Cunningham families attend ed the ceremony. The bride’s parents entertained with a re ception immediatly following the ceremony.. Among those attend ing were the groom’s grandpa rents, Mr. and Mrs. John Holtz- claw, of Clinton. Following their wedding trip the bridal couple will be at home in the King Apartments in this city.
