CHRISTMAS TREE On Wednesday night all the children of Calvary Baptist Church met for the annual Christmas tree. Richard Foster, superintendent of the Sunday school, had charge of the pro gram, with Rev. J. W. Spillers reading the Christmas story from Luke 2. After the devotional and singing Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Spillers were presented gifts from the Sunday school. The children were invited into the social hall where they received a gift and talked with Santa Claus. GA CHRISTMAS PARTY The Intermediate Girls* Auxili ary of Calvary Baptist Church met at the home of Mrs. R. E. Cheek Monday night for their Christmas party. The girts de cided instead of exchanging gifts they would help some needy fam ily of the community for Christ mas. Refreshments woe served by the hostess. No royal salute was fired to announce His arrival — only the braying of the animals in their stalls was heard Never was royalty greeted with less pomp and circumstance. Why? Because man could not raise himself to God! So God sent His Son to light up our hearts and minds with His Divine Presence. His living Spirit brightened the most ordinary and common place tasks of the day. If He could so hallow that stable, can He not hallow our homes, our places of work, the whole of our lives?
