Mr. Waldrop remains ill at Bailey Memorial hospital. Luther Medlock and daughter, Becky, and Mrs. Robert Taylor and children of Joanna, visited Mrs. Alma Harvey Sunday. W.VJ. Mr. and Mrs. John Gallman and children were called to An derson on Sunday because of the death of his uncle, Clarence C. Gallman. Kenneth Trammell, HNS, left Saturday evening for Cherry Point, N. C., where he win be stationed, after spending a 15- day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT mcdaniel Mr. and Mrs. Lee McDaniel of Laurens, announce the birth of a son, Paul Neal, on Dec. 8 at the Laurens hospital. Mrs. McDaniel is the former Joyce Boozer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Boozer of Pine Street. PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH CHRISTMAS PROGRAM The “Life Liners,” composed of the young people of the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church, will present a musical candlelight service Sunday evening at 7:00 at the regular worship hour. CHRISTMAS PARTIES ENJOYED The young adult class of the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church Sunday school met at Whiteford’s Restaurant Friday evening for their Christmas party. Following the meal the group enjoyed games and carol sing ing. Gifts were exchanged. Mrs. Roscoe Bryan is the class teacher. • • • The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Pentecostal Holiness Church hied their annual December meeting at the community build ing on Saturday evening. Mrs. Leroy Dunaway brought the devotional thoughts, from the Christmas Story in Luke 2. Afther a short business meet ing a covered dish supper was enjoyed. Husbands were invited guests for the occasion. The community building was very beautifully decorated in the traditional red and green and also blue and slver. LYDIA CHURCH OF GOD NEWS “T w o Strangers from Naz areth” will be presented by .mem bers of the Church of God on Sunday evening at the church at 7:30. The public is cordially invit ed to attend. Rev. Parties Planned The Teen-Agers class will have a Christmas party Saturday af ternoon at 3:00 at the church of God parsonage. • • • Tuesday evening, December 24, the young married peoples’ class will have a Christmas party at the Lydia community building. Juniors Have Christmas Party The junior Sunday school class of the Lydia Church of God en joyed a Christmas party Satur day afternoon at the church. Mrs. Ruby Deadwyler, class teacher, led the children in sev eral games, after which they en joyed refreshments of sandwich es, cookies, chips and cold drinks. Gifts were exchanged from un der the Christinas tree. WIITHTHE SICK Mrs. Earl Armstrong returned ot her home Saturday after being a patient at Self Memorial Hos pital in Greenwood. Charlie Waldrop is a patient ot Bailey Memorial Hospital. BIRTHDAY PARTY Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Ros coe Bryan entertained with a birthday party for her daughter Susan who celebrated her 10th birthday Dec. 18. A number of young friends en joyed several games directed by Mrs. Maxie Davis, who was as sisting Mrs. Bryan. Susan’s beautiful birthday cake which had been made by Mrs. Davis was cut and served with ice cream and other party dain ties. Susan was remembered with many nice gifts. LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH A service of Carols and Can dles will be presented on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Soloists will be Mr. Clarence Hinson and Misses Nellie Osborne and Flo Emery. Each person attending is asked to bring a gift (wrapped in white) of a non-pershable food for a needy family. Thursday (tonight) at 7:30 p. m. all members and prospective members of the Training Union are invited to the Home for Christmas Training Union party in the church social hals. Friday morning at 10 a.m. a party has been planned for the Extension Department of the Sunday School. Transportation will be provined where neened. The 13-year-old Girls’ Sunday School class will have a Christ mas party Saturday evening In the church social hall. LOOKING AHEAD December 31 a Watch-Night Service and Prayer Meeting will be held at the Baptist Church from 8 p.m. till 12:01 p.m. with the public invited. PARTY ENJOYED The Intermediate G.A.s enjoy ed a combined meeting and Christmas party Monday evening in the church social hall. After the meeting, games, gifts and refreshments were enjoyed.
