Bowen of Wadley, Ga., Is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Frank Goss, and Mr. Goss. S-Sgt. Leon Abercrombie left Thursday to return to Okinawa after being called home doe to the serious illness of his father Henry Abercrombie. Tony Black, SN, of Norfolk, Va., spent the week-end with Mrs. Black and daughter and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Black, Jr. Mrs. Shirleen Cogsdale of Lau rens, was the week-end guest of Mrs. Lester Eustace. Mrs. Cecil McLendon and Mrs. B. F. Harvey visited their broth er in the Laurens hospital on Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patter son and Chuck, of Inman, were Sunday guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie. Among those in Greenville for the Clinton High-Parker football game Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gilstrap, Jr., Misses Gloria Jackson, Beth Moare and Sue Word, Homer Fuller, Roger Whitmire, Bud Ful ler, Freddie and Donny Fuller, Harold Hairston, Wayne and Steve Hairston, Dick McLendon, and Hoyt Hanvey. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Simmons of Greer, were recent guests of her mother, Mrs. Emmie Thom as. The Simmons family, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs.' Preston Carroll, Jimmy Nelson and Mrs. Odie Nelson visited Mr. Nelson at State Park near Columbia while they were here. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Riddle, Mr. and Mrs. David Word, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Claude Trammell and Jim Hair ston were among those in Co lumbia Thursday for the Joint Hejaz-Omer Shrine ceremonial activities. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lanford and Johnny were Saturday visi tors in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Houston Ellis and Andy were visitors in Green ville on Friday. Miss Roberta Prince visited in Spartanburg Tuesday. —Paul. Glenn of Greenville, was a visitor of Mrs. J. H. Seay and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith of Laurens, visit ed Mrs. Seay on Friday. STUDY FOB BAPTIST INTERMEDIATES The Intermediate GA’s, RA’s and Sunday school members will meet at the Lydia Baptist Church on Friday evening at 6:00 p. m. to go to the Baptist Assembly for a foreign mission study course. Mrs. Clyde Trammell will teach the book, ‘‘The Mustard Seed.” MONDAY MEETINGS The Sunbeams will meet at the Lydia Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 4:90. * • * At 6:00 p. m. the YWA’s of the Lydia Baptist Church will meet at the church. • • • The Intermediate GA’s will meet at 7:00 p m. at the Lydia Baptist Church. REGENTS TO BE AT PENTECOSTAL CHURCH The Lydia Pentecostal Holi ness Church will be host to The Regents of Laurens at 7:00 p. m. at the church on December 7, with the public being invited. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT HARVEY Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harvey announce the birth of a son No vember 23 at Bailey Memorial hospital. Mrs. Harvey is the former Miss Eloise Wilson. BANQUET ENJOYED BY CLUB The Lydia Woman’s Club, with the husbands as guests, enjoyed a Thanksgiving banquet at the Cecil Wilson home on Friday evening. On the buffet table a large pumpkin decorated with grapes was the central arangement. Guests were seated*^ at tables in the den. Jine cone turkeys and berries decorated these tables. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vance, Mr. and Mrs. J. 8. Templeton, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker and Mr. and Mrs. Odell Freeman were also invited guests. Mrs. Keith McGee, president, welcomed the group. Following the meal Mrs. David Word, program chairman, di rected several amusing games. CLASS MEETING AND PARTY The Willing Workers Class of the Lydia Baptist Church Sun day school met on Tuesday eve ning of last week with Mrs. C. E. Spradley at the Baptist Assembly on Lake Greenwood. A social hour was enjoyed fol lowing the business session. Party refreshments were serv ed by the hostess. Mr. H. W. Williams is the class teacher.
