RETURNED FROM VISIT Gen. and Mrs. Ansel Godfrey returned Friday having been gone for several weeks. While away they attended the National Guard Convention in Phialdelphia for five days. Womack has returned to his home on E. Maple St., hav ing spent several days vacation ing in Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Martin and daughter, Phyllis, and Mrs. Jimmy Martin and children, Rutsy and Amy, spent Sunday touring the mountains of North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Addison chaperoned a group of Converse College girls, along with their daughter, Murray, to Highlands, N. C., the past week-end. On Saturday they attended the Clemson-Georgia game at Clem- son. Mrs. Harry Ayers returned Sunday from Griffin, Ga., where she was called due to the death of her brother, Eugene Coggins. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Giles of Greenwood, were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Annie Giles Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Baker spent Sunday in Lincolnton, N. C., visiting Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stutts. Guests over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. Ed King and fam ily were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mace of Johnsonville. Friends of Miss Hattie L. Kleckley will be interested to know she is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Mc Crary spent a few days recently at Hilton Head. George Blalock, Jr., junior at the Medical College, Charleston, visited his parents, Dr. and Mrs. George R. Blalock, over the week-end. CONVALESCING AT HOME Of local interest is the return ing home of Mrs. Edna Jacobs, who has been a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sadler, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Jacobs, Jr., Char les Johnson, Miss Jo Eylen Rob erts, Miss Catherine Dicus and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wilson spent the weekend in Savannah, Ga., going especially to attend the Citadel-Presbyterian game. Ivey, Jr., in Bad Tolz, Bavaria, in South ern Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baldwin have made plans to spend the coming week-end in Durham, N. C., to visit Mrs. Baldwin’s nephew, Richard Katzberg, who is a freshman at ,Duke Univer sity. During the visit they will be joined by Col. and Mrsf Arthur Katzberg of Myrtle Beach. On Saturday they plan to attend the Clemson-Duke game. Mr. and Mrs. Russ B. Emer son have returned from their wedding trip and are now at home at 601 1-2 Broad Street, Clinton. Mrs. Clyde Ramsey of Whit mire, and Mrs. Grady Adams of Lake Murray, spent Tuesday with their sister, Mrs. Frank Cauley, and Mr. Cauley, coming especially to see their sister, Mrs. Geen Stockman, who is ill in Bailey Memorial Hospital. They spent some time with their daughter, Mrs. Donald R. Win slow and Mr. Winslow in Bloom ington, Ind. Also visiting the Winslows along with the Thoma sons were Mr. and Mrs. Larry J. Swift of Des Moines, Iowa. Mrs. Swift is the former Betty Thomason. Edwin W- Stewart has returned to his home in Malverne, Long Island, N,Y., after spending sev eral days with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stewart. He came especially to see his mother, Mrs. Lila C. Ste wart who is a patient at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Mrs. Ethel Pitts spent the week-end in Rock Hill with her daughter, Mrs. C. W. RJa- er, 405 Hampton St., Joanna, is scheduled to complete a nine- week officer orientation course at the Air Defense Center, Fort Bliss, Texas, November 27. . During the course, Lt. Riser will receive instruction in the duties and responsibilities of a newly commissioned officer in the Army Air Defense Command.
