Wingard were in Spartanburg Sunday to attend the Dedication Program of S. C.’s newest Armory. Miss Delle Wilder, who teach es at Blake Elementary School in Greenwood, will spend the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wilder. Also vis iting the Wilders over the week end will be their son, Don Wil der, Mrs. Wilder and son, Bob, of Shelby, N. C. They will attend homecoming at Furman Univer sity, Greenville, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hart and son, Carroll Brown, Jr., will arrive Sunday after a two and a half year stay in East Pakistan for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. ' Miss Norma Hallett left last week for a several weeks visit with relatives in Fort Wayne, Ind. NINETY YEARS YOUNG Mrs. W. P. Carlton celebrated her 90th birthday Monday, Sep tember 23. Mr. and Mrs. Pope Chapman will leave tomorrow for High Point, N. C., where they will at tend the national reunion of the 81st (Wildcat) DivUion. The reunion was started 46 years ago at Camp Jackson. While away, Mrs. Chapman will tour the High Point Shirt Co. plant. Mr. and Mrs. Rembert Truluck and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Young attended the funeral of their rel ative, Miss Fanny Edmunds in McCormick. Jacobs will be interested to know that she is improving at Bailey Me morial Hospital where she is a patient. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Cooper visited their son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. (Bill) Cooper in Atlanta, Ga., this past Mrs. E. N. Morrow of Lake land, Fla., who visited her sis ter, Mrs. John W. Little, for sev eral weeks left last week to visit other sisters in Lancaster. Miss Susan Crock well, former ly of Brazil but will be making her home in Jacksonville, Fla., arrived last Saturday for stvdral weeks visit with her friend and classmate, Mrs. George Taylor. (Pat) Terry, 72, died early Friday morning at his home at Rt. 3, Clinton, after sev eral months of illness. He was a native of Laurens County where he had spent his entire life. He was a son of the late Mack and Essie Williams Terry and was a member of Lydia Mill Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Irene T. Southern of Rt. 3, Clin ton; and two brothers, J. D. Terry Sr., and Ben Terry of Laur ens; a sister, Mrs. Ethel T. Cauble of Clinton; a grand daughter; and three great-grand children. Funeral services were con ducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton by Rev. J. B. Abercrombie and Rev. M. J. Sanders. Burial was in Rsoe- mont Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin and Ted Little, Bob Bell, Tarold Cau ble, Bill Hedgepath and James Chapman. The honorary escort included Furman Brown, John T. The local boys hope to break into the win column tomorrow after losing their first three starts to Dixie, Slater-Marietta and Forrester Georgians. Forrester 19, Thornwell 9. Forrester High School of Toc- coa, Ga., did all its scoring in the first half and held on to de feat Thornwell Orphanage, 19-9, here Friday night. All three Forrester touchdowns came on passes from quarter back Kaleb McKeen. He hit half back O’Neal Flanagan on a 46- yard scoring play in the first period to take the lead and then shot a 12-yard aerial to halfback Kenneth Venable in the second quarter for a touchdown. He capped it with another 40- yard pass to Flanagan just be fore halftime. Thornwell finally hit when tackle Larry Kockrell burst through to tackle fullback Don Fritz in the end zone for a safety in the third period. Thornwell added a touchdown and extra point to the safety later in the period when linebacker Steve Johns picked up a Forrester fumble and ran 65 yards to pay dirt.
