Marvin Sanders left this week for Oxford, Miss., where he will resume his studies at the Uni versity of Mississippi. HOSPITAL PATIENT Friends of Mrs. Don Copeland, Sr., will be interested to know she is a patient at the Greenville General hospital wheres he un derwent surgery yesterday. Dick Bell has resumed his studies at Clemson following a ten-day visit with his mother, Mrs. Qlin Bell. During the sum mer he held a position with the plant engineers in the Chevrolet Assembly Plant in Atlanta. | Mrs. M. W- Culp of Columbia i is visiting her mother, Mrs. M. 1 L. Friends of Mrs. Pet Adair will be interested to know she will return today from Greenwood where she has been a patient for the past few weeks following a broken hip injury received in a fall. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Nelson of Atlanta, Ga., visited his mother, Mrs. T. J. Leake and Mr. Leake during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mauldin and chilrden, Darryl, Barry, and Anita attended the funeral of Mr. Mauldin’s father in Green ville Sunday afternoon. Horace D. Payne left yester day for Laurinburg, N. C. where he will begin his senior year at St. Andrews College. Joe Gettys Jr. left this week for Southeastern College in Mem phis, Tenn. Mrs. R. D. Hughes and daugh ter, Mrs. Virginia Wells and Miss Jane Wells from Cedar Grove, N. C. visited the past weekend with Mrs. Hughes son and daugh ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hughes and family. Burgess with Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Burgess and children of Colum -bia have returned from a two weeks vacation touring points of interest in Virginia, W. Virginia, Niagra Falls, and Canada. Also visiting for the week-end was Mrs. Johnson’s brother, Donald Wells, who re cently completed his Ph. D. de gree from the University of Ala bama and will be teaching this year at the University of Arkan sas. Mr. and Mrs. Van Jones and family of Orangeburg were re cent visitors in this city. Mr. and Mrs,. Wallace Boyce and chUdren, Allen, Barry, Chris, and Pat of Simpsonville were vis itors last week of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Mc Lendon. During the week, Mr. and Mrs. McLendon kept their grandchildren while Mr. and Mrs. Boyce visited in Atlanta, Ga., and Myrtle Beach. Dr. and Mrs. Henry Burton and daughter of Charleston spent the week-end with Mr. Burton’s mother, Mrs. G. A. Burton. Miss Marjorie Arnold has gone to Williamsburg, Va. where she will attend the College of William and Mary and will make her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Rawl. She was accompanied there last week for a few days stay by Miss Jean Arnold, her roommate at Win- throp College, Miss Lynn Kay Morris of Anderson and Curtis Fuller of Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Chandler accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. James Simmons recently spent the week-end in the mountains near Gatiinburg, Tenn.
