H. Shealy and family. IN OHIO Dr. and Mrs. Marshall W. Brown left this week for Steuben ville, Ohio where they will visit Dr. Brown’s sister, Mrs. T. W. Caskey and family. While away they will take a cruise down the Ohio River. Mrs. E. F. Culbreath has re turned to her home in Charlotte, N. C., following a visit with her mother, Mrs. O. I. Shealy. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Coleman, Mrs. H. A. Copeland joined other members of their family at Bon Clarken, N. C., for a several days stay last week. Mrs. D. H. Reynolds, Jr, of Washington, Ga., has been spend ing a few days with her sister, Mrs. John W. Finney, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson and son, of Taylors, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henderson of Wash ington, D. C., Mrs. John Mat- tison and children of Anderson, Frank Henderson of Laurens have been visiting their mother; Mrs. Belle Henderson. Mrs. George Senn of Newberry and Mrs. W. W. Harris spent Saturday In Asheville, N. C. The Rev. and Mrs. Albert S. Harvey and children, Mary, Mike and Jay spent last week at Lake Arrowhead near Myrtle Beach. MTS John W. Dunaway left yesterday for Stuart, Fla., where the latter will spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. J. Allen Sanders and Mr. Sanders. Miss Dunaway who has an edu- ' cational leave of absence from the Laurens County Welfare De partment will attend the gradu ate school of Social Work at Flor ida State University in Talla hassee. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Coleman and Mrs. H. A. Copeland re turned Sunday from Bon Clarken where they visited over the week end. Dr. and Mrs. David Mixon and children spent Sunday in Orange burg with the latter’s brother, Billy Todd and his family. Re turning home with them for a week visit were Brice and Mitch ell Todd. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy F. Hollis and family spent last week at Litchfield Beach, also Mrs. Hor- Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burnett Jr., and family are spending the week at Lake Greenwood. Mrs. Margaret Berry spent Saturday with her mother-in-law Mrs. Helen Bryant in Aiken. Go ing especially for her daughter, Kathy who had spent the past week with her grandomther. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowler, Jane Ellen and Fred have re turned from Lewisburg, W. Vir ginia where they spent a few days with their daughter and family. Major and Mrs. Marshall A. Lan- ter. Mr. and Mrs. David Marshall of Greer spent Sunday with the former’s sister, Mrs. Margaret Berry. On Sunday they attend ed the Homecomrning Services at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church. VISITED IN VIRGINIA Mrs. O. B. King has returned from a two weeks vacation at Virginia Beach. Miss Kitty Lockett is spending this week in Thomas, Ga., as the house guest of her cousin, Julia Clair Lockett. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Cason with Gene and Roslyn Martin, have recently returned from a five- week visit in Chattanooga, Tenn., with Mrs. Cason’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Bowden Sr., They were or iginally called there due to the illness and death of Mrs. Cason’s brother, W. J. Wright of Chat tanooga. MOVINNG TO VA. BEACH Friends of Mrs. Marion Gray will be interested to know she will be leaving this city soon to make her home at Virginia Beach She has three children, Nancy, Rodney and Paula. House guests of Mrs. W. L. Marshall are her daughter Mrs. J. H. Hutchins and children, Joe, Marshall, and Tom of Charlotts- ville, Va. Also Mr. and Mrs. Brewer Dixon and daughter, Cor- inne Bailey Dixon of Miami, Fla., were recent visitors. Mrs. Andy Young and daugh ter, .Nanette, and Miss Patricia Davis were guests of the Van Jones’ in Orangeburg last week. On Wednesday they were joined by Mrs. Paul Muller, Mrs. Rob ert Johnson, and Mrs. Harold Coleman for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence War ren and son, Larry, spent the weekend in Charlotte as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Coates. While there they attended the ex hibition football game on Satur day evening. Visiting her over the week-end were Miss Ann Rowley and Mrs. Lucille Barker of Spartanburg. William R. Hill has accepted the position of assistant coach at Mt. Pleasant High School this year. His wife, the former Miss Helen Ruth Holland of this city, and son, BUI, will join him there at a later date. Mrs. Virgil Abrams of Green ville, recently spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. Davis Hol land, and family. Mrs. Isaac Copeland has re turned to her home in Richmond, Va., after a visit with her daugh ter, Mrs. Addison Neighbors, and Mr. Neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Batye of Philadelphia, Pa., were week-end guests of the former’s aunt, Mrs. B. S. Pinson, and Mr. Pinson. Joining them for dinner Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Willis of Wilmington, N. C., Mrs. L. G. Balle and Miss Mary Balle of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Harris of Charlotte, N. C., and Miss Sara Babb of Laurens. Miss Becky Speake has re turned from a several days visit with her sister, Mrs. E. G. McMeekin, and Mr. McMeekin, in Great Falls. While there. Poole and children, Leslie and Mark, left this week for Spartanburg where Dr. Poole will be located, after spending the past two weeks with his mother, Mrs. Collier Poole. Dr. Poole recent ly completed a three-year tour of duty with the Medical Corps in Friedberg, Germany, with the rank of Captain. His family was in Germany with him. Mrs. Jcfeeph Hooper and daughters, Nell and Margaret, of Wilmington, N. C., visited her grandmother, Mrs. Lee Hunter, last week.
