Back From House Party Attending a House Party at Ocean Drive Beach last week were Beverly Muller, Rosanne McCrary, Cynthia Hollis, Sandra Norris, Nancy Neighbors, Phyl lis Sublett, Susie Black, Sandy Ledford, Juanita Patterson, Sally Copeland, and Kathy Salters. - Chaperoning the girls were Mrs. Dan Chaney and Mrs. Ronald McGuint. Mrs. Josie Bryson Weeks of Greenville joined Mrs.‘ W. W. Harris here yesterday and they are spending several days with Mrs. J. P. Johnston in Rich mond, Vg. To Attend Wedding in Miss. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie McDan iel andv Mrs. Vero Turner of Greenville will be leaving this weekend for Biloxi, Miss, to at tend the wedding of their daugh ter and granddaughter, Miss Betty McDaniel to James Benoit of Keesler A.F.B. at BUoxi, Mis sissippi, on Saturday, June 22. Miss Margaret Kent Bell has returned home following a trip to Virginia and Washington, D.C. Miss Frances O’Daniel will spend the week with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mills in Millen, Ga. K e there she will attend the i-Fulcher wedding. Milling Blalock, son of Dr. and Mrs. George Blalock, will sail July 1 on the Queen Elizabeth with a college tour for a six weeks stay in Europe. Mrs. A. O. Bray of Griffin, Ga. and daughter, Mrs. Sherman Clark of Normange, Texas were recent guests of Mrs. Bray’s sis ter, Miss Ruth Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Don Creighton and family are spending this week in Savannah, Ga. visiting with the latter’s sister, Mrs. Don Fourman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Seymour and family spent the Father’s Day Weekend with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sey mour and Mr. and Mrs. Haley Brown in Bowman, Ga. Mrs. R. C. Anderson of Dillon, arrived Wednesday to spend sev eral days with Mrs. John Little. Mrs. Carl Clary and children of Mount Pleasant, were guests of Mrs. Clary’s mother, Mrs. Robert S. Owens. Rev. Clary is attending the Methodist Ministe rial Conference in Columbia. - Mrs. Ralph Copeland recent ly moved from her home in the country and is now making her home at 401 Pine St., City. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson and children of Pendleton, recent ly* visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson. NEW RESIDENTS Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nye recent ly moved here from Piedmont. They are making their home at 108 Young Drive. They have two daughters, aged 2 and 4. Mr. and Mrs. John Jordan and children of Kinston, N. C„ vis ited last week with Mrs. Jordan’s mother, Mrs. Robert Wysor. . Mrs. Emma Poole of Spartan burg, is visiting her niece, Mrs. Ansel Godfrey, and Gep. God frey, Dr. and Mrs. T. Layton Fraser were in Charlotte, N. C., and Da vidson, N. C., last week where they attended a class reunion at Davidson College. Miss Lois Balle of Dallas, Tex as, Mrs. L. G. Balle and Miss Sarah Babb of Laurens, visited the past week with Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Pinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gasque have been visiting their parents, and also outing at Lake Greenwood before returning ot Erskine Col lege for the summer session of school. AT WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Pitts' spent a few days last week at White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moore have as guests Mrs. Roy Bennett of Canton, Texas. Mrs. Bennett is the latter’s brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. James Holland and children have returned from a tour of Mexico and Texas. Mrs. Roy Bennett accompanied them home. Mrs. H. D. Payne and Horace Payne have returned from a visit with their daughter and sister, Mrs. Richard Lukstat and Capt. Lukstat, in Kokomo, Ind. Mrs. Jack Crandall formerly of Louisville, Ky., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Ha mer. The Crandalls have moved to Chester following his gradu ation from Union Theological Seminary, and he has accepted the pastorate of Trinity Presby terian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Kobert F. are spending this week in L ville, Term., as guests of Dr. and Mrs. Dan Sanders. COMPLETES COURSE Lt. Col. W. S'. Horne returned Saturday from Fort McClellan, Ala., where he spent the past two weeks attending an Officers Re fresher Course at the chemical School. Mr. and Mrs. Dillard Boland and children are spending this week vacationing at the Isle of Palms. Mrs. Earl Bethea of Dillon, ar rived Wednesday to visit with Mrs. C. W. Stone for several days. Mr. and Mrs. William M. Shields and family returned last week after spending several days vacationing at Jekyll Island as guests of the Wanderer Motel. Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick F. end with her parents, Mr. and end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence F. Davis, before leaving Monday for New London, Conn., where they will make their home. Sgt. Broadus E. Smith, Jr., and family who have been resid ing at Ft. Devens, Mass., where Sgt. Smith is stationed,' are spending a leave with their pa rents, Mrs. B. E. Smith, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Campbell. Sgt. Smith will leave for over seas duty the last of July and his family will remain here. Mrs. Miriam Gray and chil dren Nancy, Rodney and Paula, left Tuesday to join Mrs. J. R. White and daughters of Aiken on a trip to points of interest in Florida and New Orleans, La. Mrs. William Redd Turner and daughter, Susan, spent severed days Iasi week in Winston-Salem, N. W. Hays, Mr. Hays and afmily. On Monday the Hays and Miss Crouch left for a weeks’ vacation in Panama City, Fla, GUESTS OF SMITHS Miss Carole Ann McAfee and brother, James McAfee, have re turned to their home in Fantagh, Long Island, N. Y., after a week’s visit with Lt. Col. and Mrs. F. V. Smith. They were ac companied here for the week-end by Vinton Smith of Deal, N. J., and George Weisz of Long Branch, N. J. Miss McAfee and the Smith’s son, Vinton, Jr., will be married in July. Joel Cox, Jr., of Charleston, spent the week-end at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cox, Sr. Visiting Miss Kay Young at her home, in Merrie Oaks last week were Miss Jane Carrol Browne of Hooperstown, 111.,, and Miss Mary Bqile Davis. TAKING ROTC TRAINING Cadet Duckett Adair left Fri day for Orlando, Fla., where he is attending Air Force Student Summer Training at McCoy Air Force Base for four weeks. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Southall, accompanied by their guests, Mrs. T. C; McNally, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Martin, spent Sun day in the mountains of North Carolina. Mrs. J. A. Orr, Jr., and son, J. A. Orr, III, attended the Debu tante Club^ Ball in Spartanburg recently. Mrs. Orr’s niece, Miss Laura Virginia Orr, of Spartan burg, was one of the debutantes. Cadet Bill Horne spent the week-end at Mt. Pleasant with friends enroute to Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, where he is attending Air Force ROTC Stu dent Summer Training for four weeks. Accompanied by Mrs. Bsn Hay Hammet, Miss Amelia Nichols went to Greenville on Tuesday to particpiate in the Southern Ten nis Tournament.
