Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer and Velda spent the week-end in Westminster. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tinsley and Richard visited Mrs. Estelle Boozer, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Boozer and Mike at Lake Murray Saturday. Mrs. Fay Garner and Sharon of Greenville, were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer and Velda Friday. Mrs. David Owens has return ed home after a ten-day stay at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Chestley King visited rela tives in Union Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cox spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Vinson, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Cox in Seneca. WALLY HEATON HAS PARTY Wally Heaton was honored with a birthday party recently, given by his mother, Mrs. Walter Heaton. — * * Wally was celebrating his 5th birthday. Celebrating birthdays June 19 will be Mrs. Claude Wallenzine, Gail Caughman, Gene Samples and Margaret Wallenzine. IVESTER CELEBRATES 80TH BIRTHDAY On .Sunday Mrs. Beulah Ivester was honored with a birthday party at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Ivester. She was celebrating her 80th birthday. - She is the mother of ten chil dren, eight of whom are living. Although she is somewhat inca pacitated, she can still thread a needle, read and crochet without glasses. She has thirty-nine grandchil dren and forty-two great-grand children, of whom most all wera present. . A bountiful meal was served picnic style on the lawn. Ap proximately one hundred were present. Dorsey Turner and the RA boy* of Calvary Baptist Church sang in the afternoon, after which all joined in and sang hymns. > Mrs. Ivester received many nice\and useful gifts. _ , OFFICE SUPPLIES CHRONICLE PUB. Pet ersburg, Fla., has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Texie Johnson. Claudia Johnson spent the week end with her mother, Mrs. Texie Johnson. Friends of Mrs. Janie Hender son will be glad to know she is slightly improved after being quite ill last week. Mrs. Hender son is a patient in a Clinton nursing home. • * » The Shady Grove Home Dem onstration Club met last Tuesday at 3:30. The devotional was led by Mrs. Ola Wages, followed by an interesting program on safety in the home. The program was in the form of a panel discussion. All members participated in the discussion, led by Mrs. N. A. Shouse. During the business ses sion it was decided to have the August picnic on the first Tues day at 5:30 at the club house, with 4-H members and families invited to attend. Plans were also discussed for members to attend thd state meeting at Winthrop College June 18-20. Mrs. Grover FarAwr, ; who recently returned to the community, was welcomed into v ttML club. Kenneth Johnson, a student at Georgia Tech, returned home with them. Enroute home they visited Stone Mountain. While there they rode on the new scenic train. Miss Sallie Pitts is home after spending the week at Crescent Beach. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Nabors, Lynn Nabors and Dianne Bledsoe visited Mineral Springs Sunday.
