Mr. and Mrs. George Broken- brough and Mr. and Mrs. Car lisle Neely will leave this week end to attend the Textile Data Processing Convention at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.— Mrs. Eric Barnes returned with her daughter and son-ip-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Matheson, who had been called here by the passing of Dr. Barnes, for an extended visit in Sunbury, Pa. Hart at tended a sorority tea Saturday as the guest of their daughter, Kathy, student at the Univer sity pf South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Coates and children, Elaine and War ren, of Charlotte, N. C., were here the past week-end visiting Mrs. Coates’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Warren. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ledford and children, Lou and John Leonard, visited in Augusta, Ga., with Mr. Ledford’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Led ford. VISITED IN ATLANTA Mrs. Blakely Tribble spent the week-end in Atlanta, Ga., visiting her daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Cerny. Mrs. Tribble was ac companied by her daughter, Mrs. Ed Wills, of Williamston. ATTENDING CONVENTION Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Darr left last Thursday, to attend the Southern Baptist Convention in Kansas City, Mo. In charge of services Sunday morning for Rev. Darr was Professor James Harris of Presbyterian College. Copeland Whitmire, also of PC, delivered the message Sunday night. Bank Reese, student at David son College was home this week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fuller Reese. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Chaney and family will be in terested to know they recently moved to their new home on Sunset Boulevard off the Joan na Highway. Mr. and Mrs. Hamp McDan iel had as their guests over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bagley of Belvedere. Cadet Joel Cox of The Citadel was home for the weekend with his* parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joel R. Cox. He was accompanied by friends, also of The Citadel, Vince Petno, and Jan Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Pitts and daughter, Mary of Spartanburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Denny Pitts and sons, Willie and Grayson of Anderson visited Mr. and Mrs Joe Bonds on Sunday. RETURNED TO IOWA Mr. and Mrs. Larry Swift of Des Moines, Iowa, returned to their home Monday after several weeks visit with Mrs. Swift’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Thomason. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Mclnvaille spent the weekend in Lancaster with their daughter, Mrs. Melvin Furr and Mr. Furr, going espe cially for the Christening of their granddaughter, Amelia Anna, at the First Presbyterian Church. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Howe and family will be interested to know they are now making their home on North Adair Street. Dr. and Mrs. N. C. Wessinger were in Anderson the past week end with Mrs. Wessinger’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Owen Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Caskey and son of Lancaster, visited over the week-end at Whitten Vil lage with Dr. and Mrs. W. Frank Caston. Mr. and Mrs. James Macdon ald of Savannah, Ga., visited their son and daughter-in-law Dr. and Mrs. James Macdonal'd over the week-end. Cadet Bill Horne of The Citade in Charleston, spent the week-enc with his parents, Mr. and Mrs W. S. Horne. Mrs. Robert Bryson is conva lescing at home, having been a patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Peery and daughter, Wanda, are vaca tioning in the mountains of North Carolina this week. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ray and son, Freddy, spent last Sunday in Union with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crosby and other relatives. Mrs. Jerry Davis and daugh ters of Greenville, were here the past week-end with Mrs. Davis’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Mi- am. While here they attended a luncheon for Miss Myra Pitts. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Price, Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Wilson attended services at Bush River Baptist Church Sunday evening, going especially to hear Mrs. Price’s nephew, Lamar King, Jr., bring the message. Mrs. George Holland returned with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Hag- gin of Abbeville for a visit with the Haggin family there. Mr. and Mrs. Whit Gibson of Swannanoa, N.C., were here over the weekend visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Belle Henderson and son, Glenn, joined by Mrs. £. E. Mat- tison and children of Anderson were in Raleigh, N. C., during the week-end visiting her daugh ter, Mrs. Dewey Brazeale going especially for the graduation of hre son-in-law, Mr. Brazeale from Wake Forest Seminary. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Nabors over the week end were their daughter, Mrs. L. C. Greene, Jr. and granddaugh ter, Miss Janice Leadbetter, both of Chesnee, and their grandson, John E. Greene, who. is stationed at Ft.Monmouth, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Barnes, Sr. of Charlotte, N.C. sprat the week end recently with Mrs. Barnes sister, Mrs. L. Russel Gray and Mr. Gray. Mrs. Robert Wysor is leaving today for a few days visit to her daughter, Mrs. John Jordan and Mrs. Jordan in Kinston, N.C. Mr. John R. Little of Canton, N.C. was here this week with her son, Dr. Louis M. Stephens and Mrs. Stephens and children. Miss Cynthia Allen of Clinton and student at S. C. Opportunity School was one of the attendants in the May Day Ceremonies, May 2. Miss Allen is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Allen. Joe Thorpe of Clinton served as an escort for the young ladies. - Mrs. Gary Holcomb and Mrs. Elizabeth Simons attended the Flower Show School in Laurens last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Franks attended the funeral of W. T. Grant in Whitmire, Sunday. While there they visited several sick friends. Mrs. Ralph Ford of George town visited Misses Julia and Helen Porter this past Tuesday. Friends of Mrs. W? A. Moore- head will be interested to know she is home having been a pa tient at Baily. Memorial Hospital for several weeks. Mrs. M. C. Waldrop of Barks dale was here this past weekend visiting relatives and friends and coming especially for the Milem- Templeton party. Mrs. P. ]VI. Pitts attended May Day ceremonies at the Uni versity of ^ South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon, in which Miss Anne Digby was crowned Queen. Wade Pitts of Aiken was the Scepter Bearer. Miss Sara Ray, student at Fur man University, Greenville, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ray. She was accompanied by a class mate, Miss Suzanne Howze of Hampton, Va.
