Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie spent Sunday in Fork Shoals with Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Berry, going es pecially for the baptism of their grandson, Mike Berry, at the Fork Shoals Baptist Church. Jim Patterson of the U. S. Navy, Who has just returned from overseas, is spending a 7- day leave with his mother, Mrs. Mary Patterson. R. E. Whitmire, Roger and Mr. and Mrs. Allen White visited Mrs. Whitmire in the Greenville Gneeral Hospital Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Abercrom bie are visiting in the home of their son, Rev. J. B. Abercrom bie, and Mrs. Abercrombie in the Bellview community while Rev. and Mrs. Abercrombie are at tending the Southern Baptist Con vention in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Riddle visited Tot Stewart in Self Me morial hospital, Greenwood on Monday evening of last week. W P. Terrell has returned to his home after a visit in Carnes- vOlc, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, with Mr. a$d Mrs. Posey Taylor of Clinton, spent a few days in Atlanta, Ga., the past week. Mr Trammell and Mr. Taylor at tended the Institute of Electric Engineers meeting held at the American Motor Hotel. They vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Guyton Haw kins while there. Mrs. Lula Bishop spent the past two weeks in Spartanburg with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Cromer of Cross Hill, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. James Ammons, Mrs. Mary Northcutt of Co lumbia, was the week-end guest of her brother, Cecil McLendon, and Mrs. McLendon. Bobby Webb visited Mr. and Mrs. John McLendon in Mt. Ver non, Ga., during the week-end Mrs. Joel McElhannon left Monday to join Pfc. McElhan non who is stationed at Fort Ril ey, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ginn and children of Simpsonville, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Willard, the first of last week. Mrs. Fred Bodie, Mrs. Jack Pitts and Donny and Mrs. S. J. Parker with Mrs. Charles Patter son of Inman, were visitors in Greenville Saturday. i Mr. and Mrs. David Word, Miss Sue Word, and Mrs. John Word attended the Reid reunion at the Lyman recreation center on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stone and children visited Mr. and Mrs. William Stone in Anderson Sun day. Mrs. Charles Harvey, Misses Samaline, Ann and Maude Har vey, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tinsley and Richard Tinsley visited in Ridgeway Sunday. Mrs. Henry King, Mr and Mrs. Claude Smith and son, Mr. and Mrs. John Brewington and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Ksfe' and family enjoyed a picnic din ner at Greenwood state park Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams visited Mr. and Mrs. Edward Williams in Newberry Saturday. JOINT BIRTHDAY DINNER SUNDAY Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Fellows of Newberry, and Mrs. Ruby Dunaway were hosts at a joint birthday dinner for Mrs. J. A. Black and Mrs. Black, Jr., at the home of Mrs. Black, Sr., on Sunday. Enjoying the bountiful dinner and day together were Mrs. Al ma Lackey, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lackey of Columbia; Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Black and daugh ters, Jan and Cathy, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Black of Green wood; Tony Black, U. S. Navy, of Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. Mamie Burnett, Danny Ray Dunaway, Mrs. Tony Black, J. A. Black, Jr., and Danny. The two Mrs. Blacks received gifts from their families.
