Pendley of Atlanta, Ga., were weekend ‘ guests of Mrs. Clyde F. Smith. Lt. Col. Clyde F. Smith of the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Lit tle Rock; Arkansas, was recent ly/ promoted to that rank from Major. He is the son of Mrs. Clyde F. Smith of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gasque spent Sunday in Columbia with their daughter, Cecelia, a student at Columbia College. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Anderson and son, Paul III, of Macon, Ga. along with Mrs. S. P. Ander son, Sr. of this city spent a week in New Orleans recently. Mn. James Bradford is a pa tient at Bailey Manorial Hos pital having had surgery on Tuesday. Mrs. H. L. Bpggott of Cheraw visited last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Anderson. MARYLAND VISITORS Mr,, and Mrs. Alan Suddeth and boys of Bethesda, Md., spent the recent holidays with his mother, Mrs. B. H. Suddeth. TOUR ROCK HILL GARDENS Msr. I. S. Hipp, Mrs. D. O. Rhame, Mrs. J. B. Templeton, Mrs. G. L. Simpson, Mrs. C. E. Galloway, and Mrs. R. M. Tur ner spent Saturday in Rock Hill as' the guests of Mrs. Hipp’s daughter, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. L. E. Avery and Mrs. I. S. Hipp, Jr. While there they visit ed the Glencairn gardens and other private gardens in the city. Mrs. Gary Holcombg was con fined to her home last week due to illness. Mrs. S. P. Bowers spent Sun day in Hartsville with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Bowers and family. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Neighbors and Mrs. J. I.
