I plan to restrict my earn ings to $1900 a year. What do I include in counting this $1900? ANSWER: If you are working for wages or a salary, count your gross wages or salary, not just your take home pay. Also count wages paid in a form other than cash, such as meals and living quarters. (However, if you work as a domestic in a private house hold or work on a farm, count only your cash wages.) Count earnings from all types of work whether or not they are covered by social security. Count bon uses, commissions, fees, and va cation and holiday payments. Do not count any dividends, interest on a savings account, payments from insurance policies, or pen sions. These are not earnings from work. QQUESTION: My earnings av erage $200 a month. This barely supports me and my wife who is also 65 years old. How much must I reduce my earnings before I can receive benefits? ANSWER: You don’t have to reduce your earnings to get some of your benefits. Based * on a monthly average of $200, you and your wife can now start receiving about $562 a year. Lowman, Jr., and son of Greenwood. n SIGHT PROJECT The Joanna Lions Club is making an appeal for old glasses or frames in any condition to be used in their sight project. Frames and glasses may be taken to any member of the Lions Club, the Gulf Station, bank, drug stores, or Joanna sotres. All donations will be ap preciated. YWA HOUSE PARTY On Friday afternoon, April 5, five-members of the Young Wo man^ Auxiliary of the-First Bap tist Church with tfieir counselors, Mrs. Harold Murphy, Mrs. Ruth Mitchell and Mrs. Billy Adker- son, will leave to attend the state YWA house party at Myrtle Beach for three days. They are expected to return home on Sun day afternoon. TO PRESENT PLAY On Sugday night, April 7, at 7:30 a play entitled “The Years Ahead,” will be presented at the Joanna First Baptist Church. Taking part in the play will be: Karen Surratt, Donna Brannon, Tommy Lawson, Mac Wayne Campbell, Carol Sanders, Candy Dunlap, Louis Murphy and Lynn Riser. The public is invited to at tend. Elmore, Route 1, Clinton, was reofently chosen as sophomore representa tive in the May Court at North Greenville Junior College. May , Day festivities will be held on the front campus of the college on Saturday, May 4. Miss Elmore will finish North Greenville this year. She is tak ing a liberal arts course and plans to teach.
