Mrs. Emerson Odom and dau ghter, Janet and Beth, were guests of Mrs. Gary Dillard for the week end. Friends of Mrs. D. C. Heus less of Erskine College staff in Due West, will be interested to know she is ill at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Carson of Gastonia, N. C.,* spent Satur day with the latter’s sister, Mrs. John Roseboro and Mr. Rose- boro. Linda Knox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kpox, has been attending Draughons Business School in Greenville and has now accepted a position with Pruden tial Life Insurance in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Judson Davis were guests recently of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Blencowe in Colum bia ' VISITS IN FLA. Mrs. Margarite McGee has returned from a trip to Tampa, Fla. She was accompanied by Mrs. Eva McAllister of New berry. While there they visited their mother, Mrs. Nancy Har ris, and brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Harris. They toured the Busch Gardens in Tampa. Friends of Mrs. J. Asa Davis will sympathize with her in the death of her brother, R. W. Featherstone of Sanvanah, Ga., on February 17. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Templeton, and Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wingard plan to attend the Little Theatre in Greenville tomorrow night. Mrs. Ethel R. ATTENDED MEDICAL ASSEMBLY IN ATLANTA Mrs. Ernest L. Koty of Colum bia was here last weekend visit ing her daughter and- son- in-law, Dr. and Mrs. James L. Walker and children. While she was barer Dr. and Mrs. Walker attended the Atlanta Graduate Medical Assembly in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Ferguson spent several days last weekend in Durham, N. C. Mrs. R. E. Ferguson spent the weekend with her son and daugh ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Ferguson in Greenville. E. S. Turner Laurens — Edward Stevens Turner, 68, of 7 Wright St., died late Tuesday night Feb. 19, in a Columbia nursing home after several years of declining health and an illness of six months. A native of Spartanburg Coun ty, he was a son of the late W. H. and Francis Blakely Turn er. He was a veteran of World War I, a retired barber and a member of St. James Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Burdette Turner; two daughters, Mrs. R. E. Cotheran of Ware Shoals and Mrs. Rufus Taylor of Fountain Inn, and T. B. Turner of Gaffney; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sue Cantrell of Co lumbia and Mrs. Floyd Osborne Of Ft. Mill; anH g»v»n granrfehil- dren. Funeral services were conduct ed at St. James Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Thursday by Rev. Roy Stockman, Rev. James A. Grigesby and Rev. George Wilson. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
