Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murphy and Kathy, Cathy Nabors, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Brazil visited Gaddy’s Pond in AnsonviUe, N. C., on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bridges of Newberry, were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Willie O’Dell and Bud. Little Vicky Holder of Abbe ville, ■'spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. Clyde Young. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Holder and Ronnie, and Miss Donna Fellers were dinner guests of the Youngs, and Vicky return ed home with her parents. #Mr. and Mrs. Louis Murphy were Saturday visitors in Char lotte, N. C. ~ Mr. and, Mrs. Jerry Pitts of Charlotte, N. 0., spent the week end with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil O’Dell. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith and children of Rock Hill, were visitors of the formers’ parents, Mr. and Mrs.:, Glenn Carr, over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson were Tuesday visitors in Green- vile. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs .Thompson and Randy were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Whitehead and fam ily in Clinton. VALENTINE PARTY On last Thursday evening at 7:00 the Joanna Womans’ Club held (he regular meeting and Val entine party. The Explorer Scouts, under the leadership of Alvin Marshall, presented a program of Indian dances, for which they had made their own costumes. > The dances were directed by Lewis Marshall, who also did the narration for the program. Those taking part 09 the pro gram other than the Messrs. Marshall were: Jeff Brock, Geo. Marshall, Johnny- Moore, Jr., Donnie Estes,-Vernon Fulmer, Keith Owens, aiul Bill Bishop. COMIC STRIP PARTY ^ The older youth class of £p- worth Methodist Church will have a comic strip party at the home of Cathy Salters on Brown ing Avenue Saturday evening at 7:30. Each member is to come dress ed as their favorite comic strip character. Mr. and Mrs. Harold SmaKz Will have charge of enter tainment. Mrs. Lavinia Cooley is teacher of the class. U,? LIONS CLUB MEETS The Joanna Lions Club will hold the regular meeting Thurs day (tonight) at 7:30 at the Joan na Club House. District Governor Corley will be guest speaker. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT BREWINGTON Mr. and Mrs. Copeland Brew- ington announce the birth of a daughter on February 8 at Bailey ^Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Brew- ington is the former Genevieve Conner. ANSWER: No. Only cash pay is considered for agricultural la bor. • QUESTION: I recently pur chased a dairy farm and hired two employees to work full time. How often should I send Form 041 to the Internal Revenue Ser vice? ' ANSWER: First of all, you Should use Form 943 instead of Form 941 for reposing agricultu ral wages. Secondly, Form 943 should be submitted to the Inter nal Revenue Service once a year. QUESTION: Some farm work ers I hire request that I not de duct social security taxes from their wages. Should I comply with their requests? ANSWER: If you pay a farm wroker as much as $150 cash wages in a year, or if he works for you on a time basis on part or at least 20 days during the year, you are obligated to report his earnings and pay the full tax even though you fail to deduct the employee’s share from his wages.
