' Mr. and Mrs. George Morse and Valarie were Saturday night visitors of their son and brother, Spec. 4 Randy Morse, at Fort Jackson to help celebrate his birthday.- 1st. Lt. Shirley A. Greene is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Greene. Lt. Greene has just returned from 18 months duty on Okinawa, and after a leave will report to Fort Hua- chua, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Riser and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones and sons of Greenville, were Sunday dinner guests of their mother, Mrs. Helen Rowe The occasion was Mrs. Rowe’s birthday. Little Beth Dyches of Lugoff, spent the week-end 'with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips. Mrs. Cora Poag visited her sister, Mrs. John Gambrell, in Ninety-Six Sunday. Mrs. Frank Phillips and Mrs. Cora Poag were visitors of Mrs. Ed Osborne in Trenton last Wed nesday. FOYS ENTERTAIN WI^H SUPPER PARTY On Monday evening, January 14, Mr. and Mrs. G. N.-Foy en tertained with a supper party at Gredna Farm for a group of Mr. Foy’s fox hunting friends. The occasion was ^ in celebration of Mr. Foy’s birthday. Among those attending were: Willie Power, Marion McMWian, Leroy Burns, Charlie Sasser and Horace Gray, all of Laurens. Also Miss Ruth Riddle of Lau- rens, and Miss Kitty Mae Mose- ly of Joanna. SHEALY Mrs. Katie Pearl Swygert Shealy, 64, died at a Greenville hospital Thursday night after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late Bright and IdaJBgrrett Swyger^. She had lived in Newberry and then Joanna njany years. Her husband, . James Evans Shealy, died several years ago. Surviving are a son, LeGfahd Shealy of Greensboro, N. C.; sev en daughters, Mi^s. E. B. Kyzer of Whitmire: Mr£. I. D. Wilson of Newberry; Mrs.*C. E. Markwal- ter and Miss Katie P. Shealy of Titusville, Fla.; Mrs. Marion I*. Cromer of Greenville; Mrs. Rex. Frady of Greenville, Miss.; and Miss Annelle Shealy of Joanna; two sisters, Mrs. James Doland of Atlanta, Ga., and Miss Begsie> Swygert of Whitten Village; three brothers, Perry Swygert of Joan na; Roland Swygert of Green wood: and Harold Swygert of Greenvile; nine grandctiildre and two great-grandchildren. , Funeral, services were held at 3:00 p. m.* Saturday, at the Jo anna Baptist Church by Rev. James B. Mitchell and Rev. J. H. Thomas. Burial was in Rosemont cemetery at Newberry.
