Young Bock From Mediterranean Cruise Serving aboard the destroyer USS Manley when it returned to its Charleston home port after seven months with the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean on Oct. 4 was James F. Young, boilerman second class, USN, son of Mrs. Lillie W. Young of 74 Palmetto St., Clinton. During the cruise, the ship steamed more than 51,000 miles, visiting ports in Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Italy and France. Private John D. Cash Assigned To Company Private John D. Cash, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cash of 311 Sloan St., Clinton, has been assigned to Company C, 3rd Bat talion, 1st Training Regiment, Infantry, at Fort Jackson, where he is undergoing eight weeks of basic combat training.
