She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hughes. After the movie they returned to the home where refrshments of ice cream, cake squares, lem onade, and Halloween candies were served. The birthday cake, decorated in yellow and white, made a pretty centerpiece for the refreshment table. The guests were given novelty favors. Mrs. C. A. Reeves of Anderson, Caroline’s grandmother, assisted in serving. Tuesday Club Is Entertained Entertaining members of her Tuesday club, Mrs. Howard Smith was hostess for two tables of bridge last week. When the guests assembled a dessert course was served and later several progressions were enjoyed. High score was won by a club visitor, Mrs. Carl Wes- singer. Autumn arrangements, includ ing fruits and foliage, made a pretty setting for the games. Miss Henrietta Dollins, honor attendant, wore a waltz length gown of blue faille designed with a bell-shaped skirt, demifitted Jacket and bracelet sleeves. She carried a stylized cascade bou quet of varied sized mums shad ing from light beige into deep rust tones. The other attendants were Miss Jane Rucker, sister of the bride, and junior bridesmaid; Miss Bar bara Carter, Jdiss Virginia Gra- vatt (cq), Miss Earma Jean Mc Carty, and Miss Jo Codington, all Richmond. Their gowns and flowers were identical to that of the honor attendant. Pascal Mark Pitts was his bro ther’s best man. Mrs. R. W. Johnson, president, presided. Mrs. P. M. Pitts, hoard member of the Laurens County Mental Health Association, re ported posters made by Mrs Grace Connor League and Mrs. D. A. Yarborough were displayed in business windows. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Connor also arranged a window on civil defense. Activities of the club members during business wom en’s week included visits to the hobby show at Joanna. A group also attended the civic clubs Joint meeting recently at the fair grounds near Laurens and heard Governor Hollings speak. Mrs. Connor gave a report on the board meeting held in Sum ter. Mrs. Frances Jackson, career advancement chairman, gave an interesting ssil on business wom en. Taking part were: Mrs. Rob ert Johnson, Mrs. Frances War ner, Mrs. Grady Chandler, Mrs. Tan M.
