CLYDE TRAMMELL, Correspondent, Representative TELEPHONE Stt-MM Pfc Tracy Quinton of Fort Kobbe, Canal Zone, arrived home the past week for a 30-day leave with his mother, Mrs. Eula Quin ton, and other relatives, after a 20 months tour of duty in the Ca nal Zone. Misses Cecelia McLendon and Janice Goss of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss. The McLendons ac companied them back to the col lege Sunday. Mr .and Mrs. D. O. Vernon and daughter. Mrs. Louise Vickery, with her daughter. Linda, of An derson, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Oakley. At noon they were all dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs J. P. Oakley near here. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were Sunday night supper guests i of her mother, Mrs. J. H. Seay, and sister, Miss Feroline Seay, in Greenville. They also visited Mr. and Mrs Carey Smith in Mauldin. Misses Marie Weir and Sue Word were guests for the week end of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spur lock in Charleston. Mrs. J. T. Lanford and Johnny and Mrs. Sam Prince attended the Spartanburg fair Saturday. | Mrs. W. H. Patrick. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harris, Mr. and Mrs. [ Raymond Barrett and daughter, Tonya, of Kingsport. Tenn., were recent visitors of Mrs. Patrick's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Jones. Sgt. and Mrs. lister Eubanks and children have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs W L Boyce, while he was being trans ferred from Washington. D C., to Donaldson AFB, Greenville. Mr and Mrs. Mark Conner, \ Mr .and Mrs. Leroy South were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy ’ South during the past week while Mrs Conner's daughter, Mrs Jimmy South, was a patient at Blalock Clinic Rome Lollis of Baltimore, Md., spent the week-end with his sis ter. Mrs ,R. E. Whitmire .and Mr Whitmire. Mr. Lollis came especially to see another sister. Mrs. Henry Davis, of Ware Shoals, who is seriously ill in Self Memorial hospital in Green wood. While he was here he and Mrs. Whitmire were dinner guests of their brother, Fred Lol lis, and Mrs. Lollis in Honea Path, and supper guests of their niece, Mrs. David Tucker, and Mr. Tucker in Greenville. This is the first visit by Mr. Lollis In South Carolina in 17 years. Misses Barbara and Kay Rob erts, senior and freshman stu dents. respectively, at Winthrop College, Rock Hill, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs D. H. Roberts Mrs. Roberts is spending this week in Lancaster with relatives while Mr. Roberts is on a business trip to Chicago, lit SOCIAL SECURITY Question: I became 64 in Au gust this year. My wages under Social Security have been exactly $200 a month for the last 10 years. What will my monthly check be if I start my check for August, and what will It be if I wait until age 66? Answer: You will receive $78.40 permonth if your check begins for August, 1861, and $84.00 per month if you wait until age 69. Question: If I decide to take a reduced check for months before I am 66, will the reduction be per manent? Answer: Yes, the reduction con tinues after you become age 69. Question: I will become 63 years old in December, 1861. How many quarters do I need under the new law. Answer: A man who reaches 63 in 1861 needs 12 quarters—a woman needs 8. Question—I plan to retire in Oc tober, 1861, when I will be 69. My wife is 59 years old. She has never been employed under Social Se curity, and she has been disabled since 1866. Will she be eligible for [ benefits when I retire? Answer: A wife under 62 can receive benefits on her husband’s Social Security account only if she has in her care a minor child or disabled child who is due bene fits. Otherwise, she must wait un til she is 62 to be eligible for bene fits on your account. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrom bie spent Sunday with their son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clardy in Green ville. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carroll and family of Pendleton, spent Friday night and Saturday with Mrs. Carroll’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Abecrombie. Mrs. Lillie Belle Miller spent the week-end with Mrs. Rosa Cole in Clinton. BIRTHDAY PARTY GIVEN SATURDAY Mrs. Carolyn Webb honored her son, Danny, with a birthday party in celebration of his 14th birthday at the Lydia Commun ity Building on Saturday eve ning. Twenty young people enjoyed the evening with games and dancing. The beautiful white cake with pink decorations was cut and served with ice cream and punch. Mrs. Claude McElhannon as sisted Mrs. Webb in entertaining. Many nice gifts were presented to Danny. CHURCH CIRCLE TO MEET The morning circle of the Ly dia Baptist Church Woman’s Missionary Society will meet to day at 10 o’clock at the church. WMS HAS THREE CIRCLES The Lydia Baptist Church Woman's Missionary Society now has three circles so all the church women can attend one or anoth er. The Kathleen Walker circle meets each second Wednesday at 1:00 p. m. The Oma thine Dabbs circle meets each second Thursday at 7:30 p. m. The morning circle meets each third Thursday at 10:00 a. m. AU three circles will be glad to have new members. WITH THE SICK Frank Goss is recuperating at kis home following a week's Ill ness at Hays hospital Bobby Webb is a patient at Blalock Clinic. Mrs. Harry Templeton is ill at her home. Danny Webb was a patient at Hays hospital a few days last week. Mrs. Jimmy South was a pa tient at Blalock Clinic several days the past week. William Bagwell Is a patient at Hays hospital. CLUB MEETS TONIGHT The Lydia Woman’s Club will meet at the Community Build ing. All members are asked to be present.
