Johnnie Sirmans, of Newport
News, Va., spent the week-end

Bobbie and Phoebe were Sunday
dinner guests last week of Mr.

Florida recently, two
men and a woman

small fishing boat

RECENT BRIDE HONORED
On Friday evening at Joanna
Club House a host of friends
gathered to honor Mrs. Ray
Estes, a recent bride, with a
miscellaneous shower. Hostess
es for the occasion included Miss
Sue Thomas, Mrs. Buddie Daw
kins, Mrs. Bobbie Jenkins, Mrs.
Lowell Henderson, Mrs. Belva
Meadors, Mrs. Lillian Estes and
Mrs. James Harrison. The group
enjoyed party games directed by
Miss Sue Thomas and Mrs. Bud
die Dawkins. The party rooms
were decorated with mixed flow
er arrangements.
For the occasion the honoree
wore a pastel printed dacron,
sleeveless dress with black ac
cessories. Her corsage, a gift
from the hostesses, was white
carnations.
Refreshments, consisting of
ice cream, were served. Cake
and drinks were also served.
The honoree was presented
many nice and useful gifts, in
cluding a Sunbeam steam and
dry Iron, a gift from the hos
tesses.
Mrs. Estes is the former Miss
Sharon Meadors.

check that can be paid is for the

Answer: Under the social se
curity disability provisions, bene
ficiaries who go to work despite
severe handicaps can continue to
be paid their benefits for 12
months. During this period you
will have an opportunity to see
whether you have regained your
ability to work. If you have, your
benefits will be terminated; If
not, of course, they will continue.

disability payments are made
only to workers and their families
under 66 years of age. If you
were under 66 and qualified for
disability benefits, you would get

now since the same formula is
used to figure all social security
benefits. Your retirement pay
ment can’t be increased because
you become disabled.
