La., on Tuesday joined Miss Franceen Grill also of New Orleans, here at the home of the latter's grandmother, Mrs. R. C. Stewart. Today Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. V. Grill, Misses Grill and Banner leave for a week’s stay in Norfolk, Va., with the for mers son, G. R. Bodie, and fam ily. Nora Oeland has returned home after a recent visit in Charleston with her sister. Mrs. Ed Camp, and Mr. Camp, and in Ware Shoals with friends. AT BEACH ^Mrs W'. L. Hubbard and little granddaughter. Mimnaugh had as recent visitors .Mr. and Mrs. J. D Witherspoon, Jr., their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Witherspoon of Victoria, Texas. Mrs. Witherspoon, Jr., re- ' mained at Clemson, her former home, for an extended stay. Em ory Dillon left with the Wither spoon son Thursday to accom pany them as far as New Orleans, La., where she will visit relatives. Mrs. Ruth McMillan of Gaff ney, was the guest on Friday of Mrs W W. Harris. FROM OHIO Mrs Howard Gibson, former ly of Cleveland, Ohio, will arrive tomorrow to make her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Pinson in Cross Hill. C., on a fel lowship grant, where he will work and do further graduate study in physics. Mrs. Suttle and little son, Ken, who are with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Barker at their home on Spruce Street, will join him in Durham when their new home there is completed. TURNERS RETURN Dr. and Mrs. W. R. Turner have returned from a six weeks tour of several European coun tries and the Holy Land. Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Harwell of Denmark, were guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Shealy. VISIT MOTHER Mrs Lila C. Stewart had as re cent visitors her daughter, Mrs. Albert H. Riebel, Mr. Riebel and children, Al. Jr, Bruce, and Bethany, of Pittsburg, Pa., and Edwin Stewart of Malverne, Long Island, N. Y., who were enroute home from Florida. While here they were also guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Owens, who were spending two weeks at their cottage on Lake Greenwood, and visited other relatives in Laur ens. Mrs. Bill McMurray of Black Mountain, N. C., spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis. Enroute she vis ited Misses Emily and Banna Piester Martin, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Martin, in Spar tanburg. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Shealy have returned from a week's vacation trip to Myrtle Beach and with her sister, Mrs. B. W. Gibson, and Mr. Gibson in New Zion. Accom panying them was Mrs. Shealy's sister, Mrs. O. O. Copeland, of Newberry. RETURN TO RIO Mrs. Frederick Knopp and chil dren left last week to return to their home in Rio de Janeiro, Bra zil, after a month’s stay here with her father, John Spratt, and sis ter, Mrs. John Glover. While here they also visited her sister, Mrs. Keith Fleischman and family at Lake Greenwood State Park, her aunts, Mrs. R. W. Wade and Miss Barnet Spratt, at Lake Junalus- ka, and also in Montreal, N. C. McMILLIAN HOME Friends of Ixmnie S. McMillian will lie interested to know he is | spending some time at home from the Veterans hospital, Columbia. Mrs. Fred Scott spent last week in Columbia with Mr. and Mrs Carroll Heid and family. Friends of Mrs. JUlia K. Wil son will regret to know she has been ill at her home in Cross Anchor lor several weeks. Mrs. Ernest Cushman and chil dren, of Knoxville, Tenn., who visited her mother, Mrs. George W.
