Mrs. Bonds Hostess To Sara Glenn Circle Mrs. Joe Bonds, chairman, en tertained members of the Sara Glenn Circle of Broad Street Methodist Church for the July meeting on Monday evening at her home on North Adair Street. Several new members and visi tors, among them Mrs. A. S. Harvey, wife of the new pastor, were welcomed. Roses and other summer flow ers decorated the hostess’ living room where a social hour was enjoyed prior to the business session and program. A salad plate, punch and cake squares were served. Miss Kate Milam, assisted by Mrs. B. B. Ballard, who gave the devotional, presented an interest ing program on Missions. Joint Hostesses Fete Miss Sandra Davis Mrs, Kenneth Mann Honoring Miss Sandra Davis, August bride-elect of Paul Watts and Mrs. Kenneth Mann, the for mer Miss Kay Thomas, Miss Linda Milam and Miss Delle Wilder entertained with a lunch eon on Saturday at the Milam home on the Spartanburg high way. Mrs. Mann is spending the summer here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs J. C. Thomas while Cpl. Mann is on duty with the Marines in Puerto Rico. Decorating the living room were daisies, gladioli and roses in shades of pink and adorning the buffet table from which the main course of the three course luncheon was served were pink and white hydrangeas. Miniature bouquets in pink and white cen tered the small tables which sil vered wish bones attached to place cards designated places for 16 guests. Colorful cut flowers in the den included day lilies and dahlias. The hostesses remembered the honorees with corsages of gar denias and gifts of china. PC Graduate Weds Accountant Miss Zelonia Gayle Robertson, a graduate of Presbyterian Col lege who teaches at Hughes Jun ior High School, Greenville, was married to Ronald Wright Lik ens, an accountant for Liberty Life Insurance Company, June 17 at Bramlett Methodist Church, Gray Court. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Luther Robertson, of Rt. 2, Woodruff. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Likens, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. They have returned from a trip to Fontana Village, N. C., and Missouri and have since made their home at 12-A Crescent Court in Greenville. Johnson, Jr., were hosts to a few young people on Friday evening at their home on Young Drive A cook-out hamburger supper was enjoyed followed by dancing and games during the evening. The visitors’ grandparents, Mr and Mrs Herbert Ehrhardt, who accompanied them here, were guests of Mrs. Ehrhardt’s cou sin, Mrs. T. C. Johnson. where he received the bachelor's and master’s degrees in electri cal engineering. Fulton-Eshbaugh Engagement Told Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Mil- ton Fulton, of Walterboro, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Elizabeth, to Rohe N. Eshbaugh, of Woodruff and Louisville, Ky., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Seitz Eshbaugh, of Louisville. The wedding is plan ned for September 8 in Wyatt Memorial Chapel at Presbyte rian College. Mr. Eshbaugh is a graduate of Presbyterian College. Announcement Party For Miss Blake A delightful coffee was given by Mrs. Edwin Blake at her home in Greenwood Thursday morning honoring her daughter, Frances Ann, of Georgetown, for merly of Mountville. Mrs Blake was assisted in en tertaining by her mother, Mrs. Maude B. Bryson, of Mountville. and her sister, Mrs. John B. Ay- cock. of Cushing, Okla., also Mrs.-Douglas Henderson, Mrs O.. F. Liner, of Greenwood, and Mrs. Roy Adams, of Mountville. The Blake home was beauti fully decorated with pink and white predominating. The dining table, overlaid with a whtie cut- work linen cover, held a central arrangement of white gladioli and pink carnations. At either end of the table Mrs. James Counts and Miss Zelle Crisp were seated pouring coffee and tea for about 40 guests from Greenwood. Laurens and Mount ville During the morning a Western Union boy delivered a telegram saying that Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Blake announce the engagement of their daughter, Frances Ann, to Mr. William James Howard, of Georgetown. Free Band Concert Sunday tn Newberry The Newberry Concert Band will give an hour long open air concert Sunday afternoon, July 16, at 4:30 o’clock at the Margar et Hunter Park The program by this well known musical organi zation will consist of sacred num bers, marches and overtures. This is the first in a series of Sunday afternoon musical events to be sponsored by the Civic League, which is a 56 year old organization dedicated to civic and cultural betterment. Folks from Clinton, Joanna and other sections of Laurens County are invited to attend. Ad mission is free. It is suggested that if you have any folding chairs or portable seats of any sort that you bring them along since the seating facilities at the park may be inadequate. Girls At Ocean Drive Beach Twenty-one girls of the Clin ton High School chapter, Future Homemakers of America left by bus Tuesday morning for a week’s stay at the F H A Ocean Drive Beach Camp. Chaperoning them are Mrs. H A. Bouknight, Jr., home econom ics instructor, Mrs Herman Jackson and Mrs W R Pitts Jr. Jonnie Farnell and Jim Ad dison are bus drivers. Activities include a cook out Wednesday night at the Future Farmers of America camp at Cherry Grove Beach; a trip to Myrtle Beach State Park, Brook green Gardens and Georgetown on Thursday and a square dance with the F. F. A group at Ocean Drive Beach in the evening; { boat trip through the inland wat er way to the ocean on Friday crabbing and a cook out on Sat urday; church services at Ocean Drive; a smorgasbord supper vespers conducted by the gifls, beach singing and a marshmal low roast; a traditional candle light cabin and song service on Sunday. The group will return to Clin ton on Monday.
