Boyd of the Navy, who is stationed aboard the USS John Hood, has returned to New York after a two weeks visit with his mother,' Mrs. John H. W. Boyd and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Finney, Jr., and son, Warren, and Miss Dot Taylor were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Finney at Myrtle Beach. Col. and Mrs. A. J. Thackston and Mifs Dorothy Thackston at tended the May Day celebration on Saturday at Winthrop Col lege, where their daughter, Nan cy, is a first year student. Mrs. Joe Hagins and daughter, Rita, of Abbeville, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. George R. Holland. Glenn will regret to know she is 111 at her home. She returned there on Tuesday after being a patient at Blalock Clinic. Mrs. Lykes S. They participated in tradition al May Day festivities on the Hartsville campus Saturday. Queen-elect Elisabeth Kendall is a senior from Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Dill B. Ray. RETURNS HOME Miss Made Young has returned to her home after, a several weeks stay at Hot Springs, Ark. En- route home she vistied her niece, Mrs. A. G. Rye, and Mr. Rye in Aberdeen, Miss. Mrs. Ethel R. Pitts visited Mr and Mrs. W. Denny Pitts and family in Anderson the past Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wilder on Sunday visited Miss Eloise Mil ler at her home in Pauline. AT CONVENTION Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Dawson are spending yesterday and today in Columbia attending a Chiroprac tic convention. Charles B. Stone, of Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs. William McKin non, of Hampton, were here with their sister and mother, Mrs. William J. Henry and Mr. Hen ry during the week- having been called to Gaffney because of the death of Mr. Stone and Mrs. Hen ry’s mother, Mrs. J. B. Stone. Mrs. Cora McQuiston spent several days last week in Colum bia with her daughter, Mrs. Hal- mon Coker and Mr. Coker. AT WHITE PLAINS Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gab- bert, of Winston-Salem, N. C., spent last week with their sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gabbert, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gabbert at the White Plains Ranch near here. They were accompanied by their daughter. Miss Caroflen Gab bert, who is a medical mission ary in the mountains of Ken tucky. CHANEY HOME Cpl. Jimmy Chaney, formerly of Cherry Point, N. C., Marine Base, is spending a 28-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs S. Carl Chaney, at the end of which time he will leave for duty in Japan. Mrs. Frank Kellers spent a few days last week in Columbia with Dr. Kellers, and in Williston with her niece, Mrs. C. E. Cook. Mrs. J. P. Johnston was the overnight guest recently of Mrs. Josie B. Weeks and attended the Woodruff schools choral concert. Miss Miriam Templeton of Au gusta, Ga., will spend the com ing week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Templeton. Last week-end she joined a group of friends for a several days house party at St. Simon’s Is land. Mrs. R. P. Wilder, Mrs. Roy Gasque, and Mrs. J. C. Thomas attended the May Day program at Furman University, Green ville, Tuesday afternoon. The formers’ daughter, Miss Delle Wilder, was a freshman mem ber of the Queen’s Court. Mr. and Mrs. George Huffman and children of Asheville, N. C.’, spent the week-end with Mrs. Huffman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ayers. 'RETURN FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Wyman M. Shealy have returned from a two weeks trip to Arkansas, Okla homa, and Texas. They visited relatives and friends of Mrs. Shealy in -Arkansas, also in Shawnee and Oklahoma City. In Gainesville, Texas, they were guests of the former's sister-ln law, Mrs. Julian Shealy. Baptist Kindergarten Mrs. J. A.
