On Saturday she visited relatives in Greenwood. Mrs. L. J. Brock, Mrs. James Simpson spent Saturday in Honea Path with Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Jackson. Mrs. Homer Jacks visited her sister, Mrs. Bill Freeman at Fort Jackson hospital, Columbia,, on Thursday. Mrs. Freeman enter ed Walter Heed Hospital in Wash ington. D. C., on Saturday where she will undergo spinal surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Rush- ton were recent Saturday visitors in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McMeek- in, of Newberry, and Mrs. Etta McCluney, of Chester, were re cent Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Flow. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Poag were Monday supper guests of the latter's mother, Mrs. Guy Corbin in Spartanburg Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. League were Mr. and Mrs. R. E. League, Mrs. Joe Green and children, of Easley, and Ray Wicker, of Newberry. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Poag, of Greer, spent Sunday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Poag. A. S. Humph, of Savannah, Ga., was an overnight guest Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pitts. Mrs. Reginald Morse and chil dren are making their home at present with Mr. and Mrs. George Morse. They plan to join Mr. Motile in Germany this sum mer. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Koon and son. Mike, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Koon in St. Phillips community near Newberry. Mrs. Margaret Rushton and Gail, of Laurens, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. William Dunlap. Douglas . Lollis, a student at Erskine College, Due West, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Lollis. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Bousley were Sunday visitors of Mrs. J. J. Lowman in White Rock. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Daven port, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Davenport, Sr., were Sunday vis itors in Greenville and Greer. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Part- man and son, Jerry, of Edge- field, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. James Brown. Mrs. Hubert Davis and small daughter, Sandra Elisabeth, of Anderson, are visiting her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. League. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Poag have returned to their home following a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Poag and family and Mrs. Hor ace Poag in Baltimore, Md. Buddie Murrah, of U. S. Navy, who has been on a cruise for sev eral months in South America, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Murrah over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Thomp son and Randy visited the for mer's brother Sunday at the Co lumbia Hospital. Rev. and Mrs. Hugh Pollard visited their niece, Mrs. Douglas Timmons Thursday at General Hospital in Spartanburg. Mr and Mrs. Clyde Harmon and daughter, of Greenwood, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs Curt Salter. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gwinn, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Franks, Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Armstrong and childiven, of Laurens, were Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Banks. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Rhinehart, Sr., of Batesburg, were Friday overnight visitors of their daugh ter, Mrs. McNeal Trotter and Dickey. Saturday supper guests of the Trotters were Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Rhinehart, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. George Metts and daughters attended the Metts family gathering and dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Metts in Little Mountain. Tommie O’Shields has return ed to Sanford, Fla., where he is stationed following a 30 days v,sit with his mother. Mrs. Sar ah O’Shields. Mr. and Mrs. Hack Prater and children, Mr. and Mrs. John Flow spent Sunday with Capt. and Mrs. Charles Galloway in Augusta. Ga. Misses Nora and Jim Haw kins, Mrs. McNeal Trotter and Dickie recently attended the birthday dinner of Mrs. Daisy Rogers at Richland Community Center in Saluda. Mrs. Bobbie Estes and chil dren, of Honea Path, are visit ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Morse. TO ATTEND SHOW Among those who will attend the beauticians show on hair styling and coloring in Charlotte Saturday and Sunday include Mrs. Madge Blackwell, Mrs. Carolyn Holmes and Mrs. Mar garet Morse. TO HAVE BAKE SALE The Joanna Teenage Club will sponsor a bake sale on Friday (tomorrow), April 24 beginning at 4 o'clock* at Joanna Club House. Various pastries are to be on sale, including cakes, pies, cookies and candy. Mrs. Frances Warner and Mrs. Kathleen League are in charge of the club. The proceeds from this sale will be used for the club's expenses. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH NEWS The First Presbyterian Church in Joanna received into the mem bership by profession of faith the following: Misses Diane and Kathy Wise, Miss Dorothy Hand and Miss Shirley Simpson.
