SATTERFIELD FUNERAL YESTERDAY A. J. C. (Con) Satterfield, 65, died suddenly early Monday of a heart attack. He was a native of Laurens County and spent most of his life in Clinton. He was a son of the late Martin B. and Nettie Owens Satterfield. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a World War I veteran. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laney Mae Casey Satterfield of Clinton; three sons, Fred, Walker, and Earl Satterfield, all of Clin ton; a daughter, Mrs. Watt Stew art of Easley; five brothers, R. C. Martin, Melvin, and C. T. Satter field, all of Clinton; and David Satterfield of Dalton, Ga.; two sisters, Madge Meeks and Mrs. Margaret Oakley, both of Clinton; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were conduct ed Wednesday afternoon at Cal vary Baptist Church by Rev. J. W. Spillers, Rev. Clyde Peterson, and Rev. I. H. Webb. Burial was in Rosemont cemetery with mili tary rites. Honorary escort was Bill Dees, Sam Owens. Walker Gregory, James Ammons, Ben Woodward, Marvin Lollis. Hampton Gregory, J. J. Cornwall, Truman Owens, and Tom Crawford. C. 2t SOCIAL SECURITY Question: I am a retired worker who didn’t have enough points to get social security under the old law. Did the new law change the number of quarters I need to draw social security payments? Answer: Yes. A person who reached retirement age (62 for women and 65 for men) in 1960 will need only three years or 12 quarters of work to get social security payments. These pay ments were first paid in October, 1960. Question: I understand the new law on social security has chang ed the time you have to be mar ried before you can get a wife’s benefit on your husband’s record. Is this true? Answer: Yes. A wife now has to be married only one year to get benefits on the husband’s record. She used to have to wait three years before we paid her.
