My name and address were typed there. On the back carefully typed in the center of were the card were' the two words, “I’ll Try:" That card was written to ms a number of years ago, but I still keep it displsyed on my desk where it can be soon. It always encourages me when the going is hard. Let me offer this as a motto for the New Year. This brings to mind another old story of a very wise king who wished to teach his psople the lesson of trying. He had a large stone placed in the middle of the road which pasted his castle. Un derneath the stone he had a bag of gold coins placed. Then be posted himself at a window to watch. He had a long wait. Those who came by simply walked around or drove their carts around the stone. Finally came a man who, with prodigious effort, pushed the stone to the side of the road. When he did he found the bag of coins. Tbs king came out joyfully, and told him that was the reward for his efforts. Take as your motto the words, “I’ll Try.” Before the year Is out you "will have many rewards.
