Charlotte Executive Heads Johnson Club Ross Templeton, Charlotte business executive, is the neyv president of the Presbyteriah College Walter Johnson Club, alumni athletic organization. He was elected at a recent club meeting to succeed J. J. Corn wall of Clinton, who has served in this capacity for the past sev eral years. Templeton will serve during 1961. The group also named Dr. Hen ry Little of Greenville, vice-presi dent. re-elected PC Athletic Di rector Frank Jones as secretary, and selected A1 Brice of Green wood. to serve as assistant sec retary. Three CHS students tried out for the AU-Star Senior High Band December 10. They were Lois Marie Haselden, Clarinet; Larry Edwards, trumpet; and Tommy Sanders, saxaphone. Those who qualified for the All-State Band will be announced later in the year. Gloria Jackson tried out for the Presbyterian College. The dance will be held in the high school gyml from 8:00 to 11:30 that night. Admission to the dance ♦ill be fifty cents stag and 75 cents drag, but refreshments will be served by the FHA mem- Junior High All-State Band and j to the college library during the won a seat in the clarinet section. Those in the ninth grade have to try out for the Junior High All- State Band. Mr. Harry Bouk- night is the director for the band. The CHS band received second place prize of fifty dollars at the Fountain Inn Christmas parade. Well, the fatal day has ar rived for we seniors who have to turn in the majority of our note cards for research themes today. (I am quite sure a good many seniors have made frequent visits pastryeek or so.) Even though the seniors are burdened with school work, they are beginning to buckle down and make good grades so that when the class rings come in January or February, they will qualify to get their own ring. A senior has to be passing the re quired amount of work to get his ring. Please, Seniors, get busy and pass your work so the whole class can get their rings at the same time.
