Arm strong, and Mr. Armstrong, of Gray (ipurt, was in Newberry Tuesday nternooc for the funeral of her brother-in-law, Jesse J Hitt. Mr. Hitt, a native oT Laurens County,' was a retired Newberry policeman. Mrs. Cora McQuiston left yes terday for Valdese, N. C., where she will spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. George Williams, and family. Mr. and Mrs. John A Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Davis spent Sunday in the mountains of North Carolina They also visited the lat ter’s niece, Miss Mary Ann Glas gow, a student at Mars Hill Junior College, Mars Hill, N. C. Friends of Lawrence Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Lee, Jr, will be interested to know he is im proving at home after receiving accident injuries and being a pa tient at the General Hospital in Spartanburg. Hiram Lee, who was ill and a patient there several days, also is improving. RETURN FROM N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. R. Edward Fergu son have returned from a few days stay in New York. Mrs. Ferguson flew to New York on Friday to join Mr. Ferguson who was on a busi ness trip and they returned home on Monday. Mrs. VJ. R. Brown, accompanied her sister, Mrs. Earle B.
