'JAMES W. GENTRY. JR. James William Gentry, Jr., 42, died Friday afternoon at his home here after suffering a shotgun wound which Laurens County of ficers said were self-inflicted. Mr Gentry was born and rear ed in Newberry County and was the son of the late J. W. Gentry. Sr, and Mrs Mary Moats Gentry. He had lived in Kinards for a num ber of years. For the past eight months he had lived in Joanna and was employed at Lydia ^ Mill in Clinton He was a member of Ep- worth Methodist Church of Joanna Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ge neva Stone Gentry; two sons. Bob by Gerald Gentry and Joel Gen try; a daughter. Miss Joan Gen try. al lof the home; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Turner of Kin ards; Mrs. Emma Crouch of Joan na; and Mrs. Clara Belle Good man, of Saluda; a brother, Ran dolph Gentry, of Chicago, 111, two half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ful ler of Gastonia, N. C.; and Mxs. Viola Newman of Clinton; three half-brothers, David Gentr/l of Norway; Robert. Gentry of Green wood; and Forrest Gentry of Spar tanburg; a step-sister, Mrs. Helen, Crouch of Kinards; and a step brother, Paul Taylor, of Newberry. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3:00 p. m. at Epworth Methodist Church in Joanna by Rev. Herbert ’ntomas. Rev. Hugh Pollard, and Rev. James B. Mitch ell.
