Farnell family of Clinton, at Pawley’s Island over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. John Heath of Greenville, were week-end guests of the latter’s mother, Mrs. J. H. Seay. Capt. and Mrs. Lloyd Galloway of Fort Dix, N. J., and Mrs. E. E. Gal low ay of Greenville, were Sunday dinner guests of the former’s sister, Mrs. C. M. Broome. Mr. and Mrs. David Word, Mrs. John Word and Miss Marie Weir were in Greenville Sunday for the Shriners Hospital Day Open House. They also visited the former Mrs. Word’s and Miss Weir’s brother. Mr. and Mrs Jimmie Richie, Miss Marcelle Aberqromtoie and Mrs. Luther Hughes spent several days last week in Panama City, Fla , wtih the latter’s son and dau ghter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Furman Hughes. They were accompanied home by Luther Hughes, who had been visiting his son for several weeks. Mr and Mrs. Jack Pittman of Startex, and Mrs. Emilee Pittman of Lyman, were Sunday guests of Mr .and Mrs. J. T. Whitmore. Mrs E. W. Mitchell, with Mrs. Alton Gwinn and children, accom panied AEl Gwinn to Oceana, Va., during the week-end where he has been transferred from Jacksonville, Fla. He has been assigned to the aircraft carrier Intrepid. Mrs. Gwinn and children plan to return to their home in Jacksonville the lat ter part the week after visiting her parents. WOMAN’S CLUB GOES TO ROSE HILL TODAY The Lydia Woman’s Club will meet at the Community Building Thursday (today) at 5:00 p. m to go to Rose Hill near Union for a tour of the mansion. The ladies will enjoy a picnic sup per in the kitchen of the house which .was formerly called Gov Gist’s mansion. All members are urged to ‘be ready at 5:00 p. m. ROSES PLACED IN CHURCHES Arrangements of beautiful red roses were placed in the five church es on Sunday morning in honor of all the Lydia mothers and in mem ory of those who have passed on. The roses were given by the Clin ton and Lydia Mills. PINK AND BLUE SHOWER SATURDAY Saturday mprning Mrs. Clevis Wilkes was honoree when Mrs Pearl McWatters, Mrs. Lucille Satterfield and Mrs. Christine McLendon gave a party in her honor. BOY SCOUTS ATTEND CAMPOREE Troop 90 of the Bov Scouts, along with other scout trod|>s in the area, enjoyed a week-end camporee at Jo anna. Faulkner Laurens—John Ingle Faulkner, 77, of Rt. 1, Laurens, died early Wed nesday night after declining health of three years and an illness of a week He was a native of McDowell County, N C., the son of the late i John Thomas and Martha Rebecca SmaHey Faulkner. He was a retired i textile worker and a member of the I Church of God of Laurens. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs Margie Faulkner of Laurens, two sisters. Mrs. Ella Eubanks of Lau rens; and Mrs. Mannie Christian of Woodruff; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at Mt.
