*1. V CLINTON CHKOMCLC 4 Bomb Crow Roads Mi-, and Mrs. Earl Crvppu and daughter, Brenda, 1 have returned home after a trip to Washington, D. C., where Miss Brenda Grappa at tended the President’s Conference on “Employment of the Physically Handicapped.” Miss Crapes was a contestant from South Carolina to enter a theme that had won iirst place in the state. MOTHERS HONORED Among those being honored on Johnson, by her children, Mr. and Mother’s Day were Mrs. Bessie Mrs. Earl Johnson and son. Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson and son. The families of Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Crapps, Mr. and Mrs. Al vin Tinsley were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ownsby on Sunday. Mrs. Maude Nabors, who had been a patient in Joanna hospital after suffering a broken wrist from a fall, was able to return home on Sunday where she was honored by her children. Among those present was her grandson, Pvt. Donald Mc- Quirt of Fort Gordon, Ga. Friends of Mrs. Texie Johnson will be glad to know she is able to be home after being • patient in the Joanne hospital. Mrs. Myrtle Crowe has returned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morgan. Mrs. Crowe has been a patient at the Joanna hospital. Little Misaes Linda and Brenda Franklin are able to be out again after being confined to their home due to illness. Mrs. Tillman Crapps has entered Joanna Memorial hospital. Little Miss Susan Shouse, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Shouse, spent the week-end in Clinton with Little Miss Barbara Pitts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Pitts. On Thursday, May 12, at 7:30 p. m. the Woman’s Missionary Soci- e t y of Fairview Presbyterian Church will meet a tthe home of Mrs. Howard Stanley on the cam pus of Whitten Village. Mrs. Felton Crapps, program chairman, will be in charge of the program. On Saturday, May 14, Miss Alice Summers, daughtre of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Summers, will go to An derson where she will represent Newberry county in a spelling con test.
