Rose Prather, in Whitmire. Mrs. L. W. Ledford and Mrs. Bar bara Hopper of Chester, were vis itors of Mrs. Suzy Hawks and Be atrice Hawks. Ernest Vaughn and Mrs. Suzy Haws visited Mrs. J. C. Fortner in Greenwood for a few days recently. Russel Lawson and Ike Smith of Buffalo were guests of Mr. and Mrs Henry Lawson Wednesday night. Sgt and Mrs. Elbert W. Bennett have returned to their home in Maryland after being called here ! due ot the death of his father, H. H. Bennett, of near Laurens. Mrs. Shelby Perritt and Mrs. C. A. Elledge visited relatives of Mrs. Perritt in Ware Shoals Thursday. Mr and Mrs. Walt Snrtth, Mr. | and Mrs. Carroll Bagwell^ of Lau rens, were visitors in Spaftanburg Friday. Mrs. Chestley King was a visitor in Spartanburg Tuesday. PETAGO DISTRICT BLUE BIRD MEMBERS ENJOY CHRISTMAS PARTY There were thirty-five Blue Bird members present for the annual Christmas party at the Community building Wednesday afternoon. The building was decorated beau- i tifully for the occasion in Christmas ; greens. Christmas carols were enjoyed along with dancing and games. Re freshments consisting of cup cakes with Christmas decoration*, pop corn, candy and punch were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Francis King, Thelma Elledge and Grace Bright. After refreshments the children enjoyed opening gifts. Each member carried their gifts I of hand-painted dish towels to their j mothers which was their craft work for Christmas. NOTICE! The skating nnk at Clinton Mill village is offciially open now. So everyone please use it during the holidays. It will help keep the com munity safer. I BLUE BIRD MEMBERS HONOR II. A. ADAMS The Blue Bird members of Petago District presented H. A. Adams with a well-filled basket of fruR and candy Wednesday night Mr. Adams celebrated his 80th birthday on December 20. The ten members present representing the Rose. Tulip and Busy Bee group members tang “Happy BiitbAy” to the honoree and also wished both Mr. and Mrs. Adams a merry Christmas. GENE PHILLIPS CIRCLE MEETS Gene Phillips circle members met at the home of Mrs. Maggie McElhannon on Monday night. A business sesion was held, with Mrs. Bobby Meadors, president, in charge. A program was given on Foreign Missions, artd a social hour was enjoyed later. Refreshments of Christmas dain ties were served by the hostess. The ladies enjoyed exchanging of gifts.
