C.* Catawba football game for a drop- in at Lakeside Country Club. Autumn arrangements added to the attractiveness of the club rooms • and centering the refreshment table were colorful fruits. Mrs. Baldwin was assisted in entertaining and serving by Mrs. Ed King. Mrs. John Mimnaugh and Mrs. Marion Milam. Coffee, sandwiches and other party foods were served in buffet style during the evening. Dessert Bridge Honors Mrs. Brockenbrough Honoring Mrs. George B. Brock enbrough, Mrs. James Macdonald and Mrs. Bailey Dixon entertained with a dessert bridge on Thursday afternoon at the home of the for mer. Mrs. Brockenbrough and chil dren have been spending some time t here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Dunlap, before leaving yester day for Atlanta where they will make their home. Two tables were appointed for a sweet course when the guests ar rived. At the conclusion of the pro gressions Mrs. Robert E. Wysor 3rd was presented top score prize and Mrs. Brockenbrough was re membered with a gift. Mrs. Sadler Is Club Hostess Assembling players for three ta-1 Met. Mac Hipp Celebrates 75th Birthday Sunday, November 1, was a most enjoyable occasion when Mrs. Os car Johnson, with Mr Johnson and George and Laval of Newberry, surprised her father, Mac B Hipp, Sr , with a family birthday dinner on his 75th birthday ( Mrs. Johnson had invited Mr Hipp's children, his sisters, sister- in-law, and other members of the family for a get-together without his suspecing it, which added to the happiness of the occasion After the presenting of gifts, the guests were invited to the dining room with a beautifully decorated table and served a most delicious dinner with the tnfditional cutting of the cake, blowing out of candles, and singing of ‘Happy Birthday.” Those present in addition to Mr Hipp were his children.
