J. Leake on South Broad Street following the rehearsal tor the Nelson Poe wedding with Mr. and Mrs. P. M Clement, of Char leston. Mrs. Leake's daughter and son-in-law, assisting as hosts. Invited for the occasion were members of the wedding party and out-of-town guests. Assisting in the courtesies of en tertaining were Mrs. W. Roy Pitts, Mrs. Hubert Pitts, Mrs. Joel E. Cannon, Mrs. Joe W. Leake, and Mrs. James M. Pitts. Silver candelabra holding pink tapers with a pink and white floral arrangement of gladioli, painted daisies and mums were used on the refreshment table and buffet. Silver trays of sandwiches, cakes and par ty dainties completed the table ap pointments. Elsewhere in the receiving rooms the chosen party motif was carried out in decorations. A. R. P. Bible Class Honors Miss Todd At Meeting Monday At the June meeting of the La dies Bible Class of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Miss Jane Todd, July bride-elect, was complimented with a bridal shower. Hostesses were Mrs. Bennie B. Blakely. Mrs. Ernest Hitt and Miss Gwen Hitt. Mrs. A. B. Blakely led the program from the study book. ]<atcr a congealed salad course, sandwiches, cookies, cheese biscuit and punch were served. Miss Todd was presented the shower of bridal gifts and a pink carnation corsage. Gladioli in race pink were arranged in the meeting rooms. J. H. Darr. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Harwood Nelson of Clinton, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Poe of Wilson, N. C. The church was decorated with white gladioli, centered with a bridal j Forest College, Mr. and Mrs. Jensen Honor Wedding Party After the Finley-Jensen rehearsal Mr and Mrs Henry Jensen, parents of the bridegroom of Norristown, Pa , entertained with a party in the Mountville school lunch room. Throughout the spacious room the bridal motif was effectively used, with white wedding bells and sprays of green adorning the windows, and white streamers were suspended from the chandeliers. On the bride’s table white carna tions were arranged and tall white candles burned in the candelabra. At one end of the table a miniature wedding scene, with attendants, was effective. Elsewhere in the room magnolia leaves and gladioli were used. Refreshments served in buffet style consisted of salad, sandwiches, cake and punch. Mrs. Lucius Burns, Mrs. Troy Watts, and Mrs. Paschal Watts assisted in serving. Bridesmaid Luncheon Given In Anderson Miss Gloria Kay, maid of honor in the Finley-Jensen wedding, and her mother, Mrs. Houston Kay, gave Ihe bridesmaids’ luncheon on Friday in the Gold Room of the Calhun Hotel in Anderson. On the luncheon table, covered with a yellow cloth, yellow gladi oli were effectively arranged. Place cards marked the {daces of the guests. A corsage of yellow roses and a gift of china was given the bride by the hostesses * At this tmie the bride-elect presented gifts to her attendants. Sophie Young Has Birthday On Thursday, June 25, Sophie Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Leland Young, observed her ninth birthday.
