Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Hughey, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Boozer are vaca tioning this week at Jacksonville Beach, Fla. While there they plan to go deep sea fishing. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Ledford and children of Gastonia, N. C., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Armstrong. Alvin Armstrong and son, Donald, of Gastonia, spent Sunday with bis parents. Miss Sher ry Armstrong returned home with her sister, Mrs. Ledford, for a week’s visit. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson of Hickory, N. C., are spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Pierce. TRAMMELL VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith of Laurens, visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell Saturday. Mrs. Mattie Harvey is visiting her sister aid brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rowe in Hendedson- ville, N. C. Mr and Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Jr., and children spent the week-end in the mountains of North Carolina. John B. Bagwell was an overnight guest Sunday of his son, Maurice Bagwell, and Mrs. Bagwell in Lau rens. Mr. and Mrs. James Seay and Mike of Greenville, were Monday supper guests of the former’s moth er, Mrs. J. H. Seay. Danny Black spent the week-end in Greenwood with Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Black. Mrs. Willie Ginn and Johnny Ginn visited Mr. Ginn at the Anderson hospital Sunday. Mrs. James Hana of Whitmire, visited her aunt, Mrs. Alma Harvey, on Saturday. Mrs. S. H. Hughey of Spartan burg, is visiting her son ad fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Hughey. Mr. and Mrs. Bim Willard and son, L. A., Jr., of Sumter, were week-end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude WiBard. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ginn and daughter, Debbie, of Fountain Inn, are spend ing this week with her perets, Mr. and Mrs. Willard and his parents in Clinton. IN LAURENS. Mrs. Jeanette Evans of Atlanta, Ga., was a recent visitor of Mrs. J W. Fuller, Mr. and Mrs BiD Nelson. Miss Sarah Owens, SN. of Macon, Ga., has returned home following a week’s visit with her aunt and unde, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hairston, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Douglas and son are vacationing this week at Lake Greenwood. Miss Frances Garrett of Bessemer City, N. C., has been spending a few weeks with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. L. W’. Abercrombie. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carroti and chil dren of Pendleton, spent several days last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abercrombie. Mr and Mrs. Frank Goss and family are spending several day in Wadley, Ga., with Mrs. G. W. Bow en, mother of Mrs. Goss. Mr .and Mrs. Frank Walker and family were Monday visitors of his sister, Miss Effie Walker, in Green- villt. VISIT MYRTLE BEACH Mr. and Mn. Melvin Sattecfkeld amt family and Tnny Black were vacationers at Myrtle Beach sev eral days this week. Mt. and Mrs. W. P. Terrell were called to Carnesville, Ga., last Wed nesday due to the death of her moth er, Mrs. Will Andrews. Mrs. Mil dred Dickerson and sens spent the week-end in Carneeville with rela tives, returning beat Sunday. Mr. Terrell returned home with his dau ghter, and Mrs. Terrell remained in Carnesville for some time. Gene Armstrong, Kenneth Arm strong and L. D. Burdette spent Sunday with his sister, Mrs. Elmore Revis, and Mr. Revis, hi Hendersonville, N. C. Joe Lark, Herman Burdette, Burl Young, Thomas James and Milton Burns spent the week-end at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Fuller and son are visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Fuller. Seaman Fuller is being transferred from Beaufort to the Charleston Naval Base. Miss Paula Howell of Maryland, and Miss Trudy Fay Morris of Mel rose, Fla., were Wednesday over night guests of Miss Sue Word. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis .Huffstetler and Sandy spent a few days this week with relatives in Newberry and near Clinton. MRS. DAVIS HONORED On Friday evening Mrs. Maxie Davis, the former Miss Linda Wil lard, was honored with a household shower at the Lydia Community Building. Games and contests appropriate to the occasion weer nejoyed by the group. Following the games the hostess es, Mesdames Frances Meeks, Fred Patterson, and Vernon inn, served refreshments. Mrs. Davis was remembered with many lovely gifts. REV. WILLIAMS RETURNS Friends and members of the Ly dia and Sandy Springs Methodist Churches are glad to have Rev. James Williams return, for another year as pastor. The charges were read at the rlose of the state con ference in Columbia. Rev .and Mrs. Williams reside on Cypress street. WALKER CIRCLE MEETS The Kathleen Walker circle of the Lydia Baptist Church Woman’s Mis sionary Society will meet Wednes day, July 8, at 1:00 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Jimmy South, 318 Chestnut street. FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED On June 20 little Dianne Harvey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Harvey, celebrated her first birth day with a party at the Lydia-Clin ton kindergarten building. Eight little folk were present for the party. The children played together, after which refreshments of ice cream ad cake were served. The children sat around the table which was centered with a beauti ful white and yellow birthday cake. In the center of the cake was a doll holding one lighted yellow can dle . Favors of ballons, hats and small rubber balls were given each one. Mrs Harvey wa sassisted by Mrs. Mattie Harvey and Mrs. A: M. Shu mate, Jr., grandmother and aunt of Dianne. Dianne was presented gifts from those present. BIRTHDAYS AND WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES Barry Kitchens will be 8 years old July 5. Donald Boozer will observe his birthday July 3. Claude Willard celebrates a birth day July 2. Warren Goss will celebrate his 12th birthday July 7. Virgil Reed will observe his birth day July 3. Mary Jo Blackwell will be 5 years old July 5.
