League leaders Split Week's Bill Buffalo and Clinton, occupying top spots in the Union County League, divided last week’* games with their opponents, with Buffalo defeating Lockhart , and Joanna downing Clin ton in Wednesday’s games The process was reversed in Sat urday’s contests, with Lockhart beating Buffalo. 14-8, and Clinton v turning back Joanna. 9-7 This week's games include: Wed nesday—Union at Clinton, and Jo anna at Lockhart: Saturday—Clin ton at Union, and Joanna at Lock hart. ' The field day is being sponsored i by the Caroiand Farms in coopera- j I lion with (Temson College and the I North Carolina Agriculiural Exten sion Services, the South Carolina 1 and the North Carolina Livestock Producers Associations, and the va-. rious breed associations of the two states. • The program this year will fea-| ture forage and its use in steer feed ing operation in the southeast. It is planned to have a nationally known speaker on the program along with local livestock producers. L. F. Cato, Clemson extension livestock specialist, points out that the event has been planned for com mercial cattlemen regardless of the breed of cattle each produces. “Although this will be a com mercial cattle day, all breeders of I purebred cattle are urged to at tend,” Mr. Cato states “The pro gram will end at 3 o’clock. Visitors will also have an opportunity to see the Caroiand Farms and to observe the production practices being car ried out there. “Lunch will be available at the farm.
