Federation; Miss Margaret Blakely, president of the Clinton dub.—Photo by Dan Yarborough. $130,000 Hospital At Laurens Gets Federal Grant A federal grant of $130,000 for the Laurens County Hospital was an nounced Friday from Washington through the office of Congressman Robert Ashmore The grant will be used for- the construction of a 15-bed addition to the hospital costing $82,700. Marcus S. Boyd, chairman of the hospital board of trustees, signed the application for the federal aid under the Hill-Burton Act. Laurens County Senator Robert C. Wasson and Mr. Boyd both ex pressed much pleasure when in formed of the $130 010 federal grant for the 15-bed addition to the Laur ens County Hospital. “I am rery happy that the grant has been approved,’* M*. March 7, at the T'wmwell High School audi torium .Alfred and Herbert Tek- schik. duo-pianists, presented a pro gram of outstanding brilliance and artistic excellence to a highly ap preciative audience. The less-than- capaclty crowd (perhaps due to the unfortunate but necessary Saturday night booking of the concert) was privileged to hear what was judged by many to be the best concert of the series The team played with a precision and unity of feeling which could only grow out of a close per sonal as well as professional rela tionship The program was one of great versatility, ranging from Bach to Strauss to Khachaturian.
