As a project the group is plant ing shrubbery and beautifying the grounds of the Camp Fire and Blue Bird building and plans were made to complete the planting this week During the social hour the host esses and assistant hostesses, Mrs. A. G. Sublett and Mrs. Marvin Gault, Jr., served refreshments. v Chrysanthemums with a color ful dried arrangement added at tractiveness to the meeting rooms. Thursday Club Has Meting Thursday afternoon members of her bridge club met with Mrs. Ro bert E. Wysor, 3rd. Chrysanthemums decorated the card rooms where two tables were arranged for the gamse. Between progressions sandwiches and tea were enjoyed. Mrs. R. M. Turner was winner of high score priie. Miss Mason, Mr. Dixon, Jr., Be Married In March Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Mason of Laurens, have announced the en gagement of their daughter, Au. gusta Lei*, to Albert King Dixon,v Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Dixon, also of Laurens. C., announce the be trothal of their daughter, Charlotte LaRue, to Harry Edmund Bolick III, the wedding to take place Dec. 21 at 6:00 p. m. at Acton Methodist Church. Miss Wright is a senior at Fur man University. Mr. Bolick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bolick, Sr., of Hanau, Germany, formerly of Clinton, is an electrical engineer for the Florida Power and Light Company at West Palm Beach. He was graduated from Clemson Colleg this year. His mo- thpr is the former Miss Elizabeth Todd of this city. Entertains Friends at Luncheon Saturday Saturday at noon Mrs H. M. Shields entertained a number of friends with a luncheon at the Mary Musgrove Hotel. Covers were laid for fourteen at the luncheon table beautifully ap pointed with a low silver bowl filled with chrysanthemums and gladioli in shades of yellow and bronze Elsewhere silver vases held similar arrangements Place cards also carried out the autumn theme. Lovely dried arrangements were given to resi dents of the home Mrs W C. Shealy gave an interesting devo tional on "Giving Thanks,” Mrs. Don Creighton led the group in singing Thanksgiving hymns. Mrs. Frances War ner talked on hobbies and Mrs. James Traynham on candle mak ing. Mrs. Bass and the assisting host esses, Mrs. S W. Sumerel and Mrs G. N. Lewis, served nuts, dates, fruit cake, and coffee The club presented Mrs. Warner with a gift Debutantee camellias and white gladioli were artistically arranged for the living room with artificial grapes in the same shade used in the dining room. Gives Luncheon For Executive Board The incoming members of the executive board of the Women of the Church of the First Presbyterian Church were entertained at lunen- eon on Monday by Mrs. Robert E. Wysor, 3rd. A business session was held and plans were made for the coming year’s work. A buffet luncheon was served, with covers laid for twenty at small tables.
