Cecil Davenport, student at Clem- son College, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport, this week end. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Leopard and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Heaton on Sunday visited Cecil Adams who is a patient in a hos pital in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. W, R. Thomas at tended the funeral of their nephew, Carl Pitman, in Augusta on Sum day. Mrs. Johnnie Mason accom panied them. They also visited oth er relatives enroute home. Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cox and son spent the week-end with the form er’s parents, Mr. and Mrs C. E Vinson in Seneca. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Bracking and M. C. Broome, of Bakersville. Calif., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bras well, Sr., for a few days. Mir. and Mrs. Herman Shopall, of Havlock, N. C., visited the form er’s sister, Mrs. Frank Lyda and family the past week. They were here because of the death of their brother, Edgar Gregory, of Union. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Me Waters and family visited their son, Doug las Waters, and family in Winns- boro on Sunday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. T. B. McWaters in Great Falls. Mrs C. H. Roland ac companied them on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adams and sons, Joe and Bill, and Mrs. John Hedgpeth visited Mr. and * Mrs. Budd Carr and family in Aiken Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Barker and son, Mrs. J. F. A most interesting program has been planned by several of the mem bers, including Mrs. J. V. Lowe, Mrs. D. O. Freeman, Mrs. Eva Land and Mrs. Claude Madden. COOPER PASSES Claude S. Cooper, 63 died early Saturday afternoon in the Laurens County hospital after several years of declining health and an illness of five weeks. He was a>native of Laurens Coun ty, a son of the late Oliver S and Corrie Hughes Cooper .He was a Baptist. Surviving are one son, Clyde Copoer, of near Clinton; a foster sister, Mrs. Lydie Todd of Clinton and four grandchildren Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3:30 p m at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. J W. Spillers, the Rev. R. L Powers and the Rev. J.
