Sunday for an overnight stay. Mrs. Betty Eustace and children, of Washington, D. C., arrived Sun day evening fot several weeks stay with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Booser. Clyde Trammell and Ken, with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Elder, Jr., and Harry spent Saturday in Athens, Ga.. where they visited Miss Nor ma Elder, a freshman at the Uni versity of Georgia and attended the football game between University of South Carolina and University of Georgia. Mickey Thomas arrived home Sunday from Fort Bliss, Texas, aft er receiving his discharge from the U. S. Army. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Moore and children visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Moore at Mount- ville and sister, Mrs. H. F. Tumb- lin and Mr. Tumblin in Laurens on Sunday. Joe Lark, freshman at Clemson College, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Lark. W. E. McGinnis, of Pelzer, spent Sunday with his daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Birchmore accompanied their daughter, Pearl, to Columbia Monday where Pearl entered the Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Birchmore will remain with her daughter until she is improved. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Ball spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. W. W. Ball in Hendersonville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Bim Willard and family, of Sumter, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Willard. Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Sr., and Mrs. Louise Broome and children of Camden, spent the week-end with relatives here Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Huffstetler and Sandy. r gttended the homecom ing at Hurricane Baptist Church Sunday. Miss Birchmore Celebrates Birthday In celebration of her 16th birth day, Miss Ruby Birchmore was honored with a party by her sister, Mrs. Louise Griffin and Mrs. Lois Webb at the Lydia .Community House on Saturday evening. Around thirty guests enjoyed the occasion. The group enjoyed dancing and games after which the hostesses served hot chocolate with marsh mallows, assorted sandwiches, po tato chips and min^s. Miss Birchmore received many nice gifts./ \. Pink And Blue Shower Enjoyed The Lydia Community Building was the scene of a lovely pink and blue party in honor of Mrs. Jimmy Hairston on Friday evening. Appropriate games were enjoyed by the group, under the direction of Mrs. Bill Nelson. The hostesses, Mesdames Perry Parrish. Bobby Bennett, J C. Estes, Harold Hairston and Nelson served delicious party refreshments to the guests. Mrs. Hairston was presented many lovely “little things" which were opened and passed for all to admire.
