Also a nominating committee was appointed for officers for 1959 The program chairman. Mrs. Da vid Word, announced that the Octo ber meeting would be concerning Christmas gifts and a film on gift wrappings would be shown. She asks each member to bring, to show, a gift that can be made. At 11 o’clock Rev R. E. Cason, of Beach Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church will bring the morning message. Dinner will be served following P. T. A. Has First Meeting Of Year The Providence School Parent- Teacher Association met at the school on Monday evening of last week for their first meeting of this school year. The meeting was called to order by the president, Glenn Gaskin. Following the business session, Claude Crocker spoke to the group of the scholarships given each year to a Lydia and Clinton boy or girl. At the close of the meeting re freshments were served in the din- VbMl Of Lydia Twenty one Baptist churches of tha Laurens Baptist Association will conduct Schools of Missions tha week of Sept 3B-0ct 3 The schools will be conducted in this manner: On Sunday September 28. there will be a different missionary speaking during the morning worship services in the 21 cooperating Baptist churches. Then Sunday night there will be another missionary speak ing in each of the churches. On Monday night through Friday night each of the 21 churches will hold classes, by departments, and will teach missionary books The church will use the books suggested for the WMU 1958 Foreign Mission Study in connection with the Lottie Moon Christmas offering These books will deal with Southeast Asia. Then at the close of these class periods, the classes will assemble into the church auditorium for the message from the missionary. This School of Missions is to take place of the fall revival.
