McMillin and daughter of Inman, spent the week end with Mrs. McMiUin’s mother, Mrs. John Griffin Pitts, and other relatives. Dr. and Mrs. A. D. Salter will leave Saturday for New Orleans where they will attend a meeting of the Southern Academy of Pe- riodontomology. They plan to return on Wednesday night. Mrs. Hugh Simpson, Mrs. W Roy Pitts and Goyne L. Simpson will at tend the funeral of K. JtrlfcMaster, Sr., in Winnsboro this morning. Mr. McMaster is the father-in-law of Mrs. Simpson’s daughter, Mrs. K. R. McMaster, Jr., the former Miss Frances Simpson. Mrs. R. E. Sadler spent a few days last week with her sister, Mrs. Ben Martin, in Easley. Friends of Mrs. Martin will be glad to know she is much improved and is at home after a hospital stay. Miss Lyde Hipp has returned to her home here after a two weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hipp near Woodruff Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Gibson of New Zion, who had been attending the teachers meeting m Columbia, were joined by their daughter, Sue, a student at Columbia college, and were week-end guests of Mrs. Gib son’s sister, Mrs. W. C. Shealy, and Mr. Shealy. Mr. and Mrs. William Davis and daughters, Misses Emily and San dra, were guests Sunday of Mrs. Davis' sister, Mrs. Douglas Wake field, in Iva. They joined their son, Billy, student at Clemson, who spent the week-end in Iva. Mrs. E. F. Culbreath of Charlotte, N. C., spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. 0. I. Sheely. Denzler and sons, Wyn and Jim, will return to their home in New Orleans, La., tomorrow after a visit with her mother, Mrs. C. W. Stone. Mr. Denzler accompan ied them here for several days last week. Dunlap and Mrs. John Cooley of Mountville, were guests of Mrs. Bonner Harvley in Greenwood for a flower show and tea recently sponsored by the Dahlia Garden Club of that city Lt. Col. and Mrs. Walter B. Todd and family of Carlisle Barracks, Pa., Mr and Mrs. Hugh Eargle and daughter, Lucy, of Florence, have returned to their homes after being called here because of the illness and death of their mother, Mrs. J. Reed Todd. Attending the district Garden Club meeting in Spartanburg on Wednesday of the past week were Mrs. Gary Dillard, Mrs. George Watts Copeland, Mrs. Hugh Ray, Mrs. Henderson Pitts, Mrs. Gary Holcombe and Mrs. Wilmot Shealy Friends of Johnny Burnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Burnett of Joanna, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burnett, of this city, will be interested to know he is now a patient at the General hospital in Spartanburg. Guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burnett were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Grier of Spartanburg. Mr and Mrs. Weldon T Jackson and daughter, Sara Weldon, were week-end guests of Mrs. Jackson’s brother, L. W. Alexander, and Mrs. Alexander in Newton, N. C. Mrs. W. L. Inskeep who had spent the past week there with her son and family, accompanied them home Mr. and Mrs. O. F. McIntosh spent Sunday in Bamberg with their aunt, Mrs Marion Black, w'ho is seriously ill Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Robert Simmons is the director and Richard Dorhritz is assistant. “The Spartans have one of the finest bands in the state and I hope the people of Clinton will turn out to hear them,” said W. A. Cothran, director of the Clinton band. Those who attended the Clinton High School band concert Tuesday night will be admitted to tonight's concert on the same ticket.
