Burial was in Rosemont cemetery, Clinton.' Pallbearers were Dell Reddick, Broadus Hawkins, Van Oxner. Jr., E. W. Price, Nathan Braswell and G. W. Price. . Brownie Party Nntice The Brownies will leave the club house .Saturday morning at 9:45 to attend the Juliette Lowe birthday party in Greenwood at the recrea tion building Each Brownie is asked to bring one cent for each year of her age to the party. The party will begin at 10:30 a m. and last until noon The leaders and committee members are invit ed and are asked to accompany the girls to Greenwood The Foun dation bus will furnish the trans portation. Attend Services The Brownies and Girl Scouts attended the morning worship ser vice at the Joanna Church of God recently. .The Rev. Brooks brought an inspiring message on the youths of the Bible. The scouts are observing Nation al Girl Scout Week and will par ticipate in many activities during the week. Basketball Tournament The Joanna girls basketball team entered the Southern Textile Bas ketball tourney in Greenville on Wednesday. The players from Joanna are: Bobbie Bridges, Gwen Price, Ev elyn Evans, Evelyn Motes, Phyl lis Bodie, Linda Johnson, Louise Force, Nadine Bridges and Thelma t’rolley. Woman's Society Meets The Woman’s Society of Christian Service met Tuesday night at the Educational building. Mrs Jessie Prater had charge of the program. She gave a summary of a workshop she attended in Jan uary for officers of the society. The hostesses, Mrs. L. J. Brock, Mrs. James Simpson and Mrs.’ La- vinia R. Cooley, served a salad plate, assorted sandwiches, date bars and tea. Lewis L. Johnson Passes Lewis L.
