The entertaining room^ of the Luncheon Honors ~ Bride of Saturday Complimenting Miss Ellen Fraser on Monday of the past week Miss Patsy Macdonall entertained with a luncheon at th£ home of her par ents, Dr and Mrs. M A Macdon ald. Covers were laid for twenty-four guests with place cards and other appointments carrying out the holi day motif. Centering the bride- elect’s table was a miniature Christ mas tree under which was a stock ing containing a remembrance for her. Later she was also presented with a gift from the hostess Assisting in serving were Mrs. J. B Hart, Mrs. Robert Wickham and Miss Patricia Vaughn. home were beautifully 'decorated throughout in keeping with -the season. A.. holiday arrangement ardorned the mantel and elsewhere were native greens, tapers and Christmas ornaments. ~ Prizes for the games went „to Shirley Ann Timmons and Ann Ad dison. Later a party plate of rasp berry tang salad, dainty sandwich es in the Christmas motif and holi day punch were served. Include Christmas- New Year Dances 'The annual Christmas ( dance for members was held on the 19th at Lakeside Country Club with about 100 attending. DAVID EARL ROSS MISS ELLEN FRASER BECOMES BRIDE OF DAVID EARL ROSS ON SATURDAY In a Wedding Saturday afternoon at 4;3CI AT thfe First Presbyterian Church Miss Ellen Moselle Fraser became the bride of David Earl Ross, of Charlotte. > The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Layton Fraser, of 306 Hickory St.; her father, assist ed by her uncle, the Rev, H. B. Fraser, of Greenwoodr^rfficiated at the service. Dr. Fraser also gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. J. Ferdinand Jacobs served as organist, and Miss Betty Jane Hamer sang Magnolia foliage and cathedral candles- decorated 7 'the sanctuary. Mr. Ross is the son of Mrs Charles Wesley Ross, of Charlotte, and the late Mr..Ross. Patricia Townley, of Norfolk, Va., cousin of the bride, was dressed in tuoced or- garidy scattered with ^mbroidefed pink rosebuds. * The bride wore her' sister’s wed- ring gown of Mechlin lace and tulle over duchess satin with appliqued illusion yoke and skirt ending in a cathedral train. A lace Juliet cap- llrimmed with orange blossoms’held her veil. She wore a single strand ol pearls and carried a nosegay of rosas. * . • " The bride’s mother wore a street length sheath dress* of mauve lace and satin with matching, accessories and a camelia cors'age. The bride groom’s mother wore a street length dress of dusty rose lace over taffeta with matching accessories and a camelia corsage. y 4 ' A reception was held in the church parlor and social room. The receiv ing line was formed in the parlor where magnolia foliage was beau tifully arranged in compotes on either end of the mantel and a silver bowl of white carnations and snap dragons adorned a side table v White tapers in silver candelabra flanked the three tiered and em bossed wedding cake adorned with' white and pink camellias on the bride’s table which held a tracery of smilax and ivy over a lace and cutwork cloth. Smilax, white ca mellias, carnations and snapdrag ons were also used on the punen and bride’s register tables, with a back ground of magnolia foliage for the social room. The couple later left for a trip to Georgia, for whiclr the bride chang ed to a beige w-ool suit trimmed w-ith brown fur and worn with brown varigated -camellias. - After Jan. 3 their address will be * Union Theological Seminary. 3401 Brook Rd., Richmond, Va. Attendants to the liride wore floor-lehgth gowns of cotillion blue net over taffeta with net straps over the shoulders fastened in baTk with a rhinestone pin and forming a panel to the floor. They carried matching muffs to which were pin ned red poinsettias. The bride’s gown was made of lace over taffeta with Peter Pan collar and embroidered net yoke; the skirt featured pleated net pan els and a chapel train.
