Wolfe Insurance Agency was entertained with a Christmas party by Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe at their home on 'Young Drive. Dinner was served buffet from the dining table centered with a crystal goblet'filled'with Christmas balls flanked by sparkling candles in two shades of blue and a tracery of silvered ivy. Small tables in the receiving rooms were appointed with miniature Christmas arrange ments. Decorations in the living room featured a Christmas tree, a mantel arrangement of white reindeer and tapers, and elsewhere silvered ivy with angels in the two tones of blue. Following dinner Christmas car ols were sung. Thm Wondmrfvl Mow 40RMEYER POWER-CHEF Entertain With Dance Saturday Evening Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs .^Robert M. Vance en tertained a hundred guests with a dance on Saturday evening in the ballroom of the Mary Musgrove Ho tel- — •—-- Mr. and Mrs". Hugh S. Jacobs and Mrs. Reese H. Young met the guests at the door and IMr. Young as Santa Claus welcomed them. Overhead a large lighted mistle toe ring was used and at one end of thei ballroom was a beautifully dec- orated tree. A red satin cover over laid the punch table and tapers burned on the smaller tables about the room. Mr.' and Mrs. Tommy Hollis and Mrs. L. J. McCarthy served punch. The Dorians played for dancing and pictures of each couple were made and presented to them before the close of the evening. The occasion was notable, occurring on the 13th, and marking, the 13th year of Dr. Brown’s serving as the 13th president of the college. Covers were laid for the guests at long tables prettily appointed in the Yuletide motif in keeping with other decoratipns for the event. Invocation was given by the post chaplain, R Eugene -Johnson, and- W. S. Horne, commander; welcomed the guests. A barbecue chicken supper was served. Arrangements For Christmas Featured On Club Program A joint meeting of the garden clubs in the city was held for De cember on the 9th at Hampton Avenue School. « MrS. Robert Riddell, district president of the state gardens clubs, and Mrs. R..,L Holroyd, of Chester, presented the program They had brought and made Christmas ar rangements featuring madonnas, a variety which could be made with very little expense, and several tea tables and a child's, table with a Santa scene. Later in the afternoon guests were, invited for a social hour and re freshments were served from the table adorned with an elongated ar rangement of holly and red tapers.
